Hi all,
A nine-yr old girl went missing three weeks ago in Yorkshire (England) and yesterday she was found alive and well  . A man has been charged with abduction. I had hoped she would be found alive but after all this time it was unlikely she would be. Her family must be absolutely ecstatic about it.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/w...re/7296756.stm

From what I can gather there was a party in the street ! She was reunited with her mum but not the whole family yet I think they are questioning her as much as they can to find out what went on.
Its a great relief to all however lets not forget the thousands who are still missing out there 
|

What wonderful news.....I can't imagine what a horrible experience she went through....the fear......how this trauma will effect her the rest of her life but hopefully wonderful family love & great support will help her put the trauma into perspective so she will not allow the trauma to control her thoughts & life in the future.
Wonderful news for her family.....so few actually have a good outcome like this......I was in need of some good positive posts this morning....& it seems to be a very good day for many. Debbie

I bet.
My family has a house down by the ocean, and one summer when I was really little, like 2 or 3 we were on the beach and I just walked away and my parents were freaking out because they couldn't find me, and at that time child abduction rates were sky high, but the lifeguards found me. My mom said she was never so happy to see me, and never so furious at me.

this poor girl had been hidden in a flat about a mile from her home, the police did house to house around the area she lived and her parents never gave up on her being found, her ordeal isnt over yet she was reunited with her mum then they started trying to find out what went on in the flat she is under social services for the weekend

The place where she lived, where she went missing from, is only about 45 minutes from where I live. The police and neighbors were great and no-one gave up looking for her... I just think it's a shame she hasn't seen her mother yet. Because the guy who owned the house where she was found is the uncle of her stepfather they have only let her mother see her through a mirrored glass to formally identify her. I know that it's only because they need to question the girl, but it's a shame she hasn't been allowed home yet (she is in good hands though and is said to be happy). I think it's amazing that she has been found alive and so well.
