T is on vacation this week and I am missing her even though I tried to tell myself it is only that one hour I am missing. I think because she said she would not be returning phone calls (at Christmas break she was 'around town' and took calls) because she is going to 'really be away' this time. I really miss therapy and T !!
But also today I accepted an offer by my manager to replace my supervisor who's leaving. I have never supervised before! I'll just have 5 people reporting to me but a hectic workload that has a weekly deadline and a million things that can and do go wrong. I've filled in several times when the supervisor is out so I've become more used to the stresses and I don't panic immediately anymore. (Note that I'm not saying I don't panic! lol). I'm excited and my manager is too. She offered me this job several years ago and I was falling apart and a mess and no way could I have done it then so I declined. I"m lucky to have been asked again. This time, I'm stronger and *most importantly*, I have T there! She and I have talked about the job, knowing it was coming available soon. She's there to help in any way and I am so glad to have her support. I know I'm going to need it. Ironically the pay increase is equal to one extra session per week. HA!! But she's on vacation and I can't tell her yet! I don't see her until a week from Thursday! I know I'll still be excited when she gets back and I can tell her. I don't want to leave a message, I want to tell her in person. I'm thankful I have good news to share with her and I really really can't wait till she gets back!!

ECHOES!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Not only is it awesome that you got the promotion, but you are able to look back a few years ago and see how much you have grown, and much stronger you have gotten since then.
Wow, you must be bursting with excitement to talk to T. She will be proud of you, as all of us are.

I you guys! Yes I can't wait for T to get back to tell her! My manager announced my promotion today and I received a lot of very positive and excited feedback and support! I'm going to need it too--this is one of those opportunities that challenges, excites, and makes me shake in my boots. I didn't even tell you all of the good things happening to me. (If I say them out loud it might jinx them?). My friend has been trying to sell her house for several years so she could return to her home state and family there. In the meantime she met someone willing to relocate with her and he moved when he found a great job. They can't stand being apart and travelling back and forth is getting old and expensive, so she's moving there in a few weeks and I'm going to move into her house rent-free (I'll pay 2 utilities). Her house is on the beach--not on the water, but on the barrier islands between the Intercoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico, each several blocks from the house. I'll stay until the house sells and then on to a new adventure  Anyway, I do love you all and thank you so much for your kind words and support! |
