For people who haven't noticed yet, some of the codes to get special text effects and stuff in their messages have changed with software upgrade.

For example, for a smile, you used to type "[ smile ]" but now a simple emoticon " : )" is used instead. Smilie, color, etc code changes

Of course it is easier just to click the "Graemlins" or code inserters below the post box, but for those in the habit of just typing in the codes, you'll have to get used to the new codes.

Also notibly the codes to get color text has changed, for red text for example, instead of [ red ] , [ /red ] you now use [ color:red ] , [ /color ]

People with color in their signature lines will have to make that change in their profile.

</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
One last thing: in the old software, you could use both the forum software codes (UBBCode) or true HTML in your posts. Now to use HTML you will have to change the item in the list right above the post box... where it says "Make post" and "using UBBCode" is entered... if you want to use html you will have to change that to "using HTML" or "using HTML or UBBCode". Otherwise HTML will be ignored and will post just as you typed it.

</div></font></blockquote><font class="post">

He moves swiftly and silently... Smilie, color, etc code changes Doc changed the default here to allow both HTML and UBBCode, so you don't have to change anything unless you want to specifically exclude codes from your post.

---------------

Don't anyone get confused by this... if you are used to just posting simply you don't have to change anything that you are doing, and in fact adding smilies and color and other things is even easier now with the buttons directly below the post box if you want to try them out... They are a lot easier. A lot of people get really thrown off by change, though.

Because of the slightly different button positions, I keep hitting "browse" (to attach a file) instead of "ok, continue". Smilie, color, etc code changes D'OH!

And the color choices at the bottom... the last one makes me think: [i]Mystery Date.... Are you ready for your mystery date....????" Who's behind the door? (By Milton Bradley? You know what I mean...)

LOVED MYSTERY DATE!!! Wasn't there a garbage man or some "dud" date behind the door?

Here's one for you "The Barbie Game" board game. Huh, huh? It was handed down to my friend from her older brother's girlfriend in the early 70's, but I guess it came out in the early 60's judging from the style of clothing. The object was to go around the board and you had to get a dress, a date and 2 other things I think before you could go to the prom. Probably shoes and accessories. Smilie, color, etc code changesI think your date was the last thing you could try for. I think there names were Ken, Bill, Bob and Poindexter! When you first came here I used to think of his picture every time I read you name. He was the geek, he had red hair and freckles. Personally, I thought he was the cutest.Smilie, color, etc code changes

I don't have red hair or freckles but I am "the geek"

People think by username is from "dexter" of "dexter's lab" but it is really from "poindexter" , the professor's nephew from Felix the Cat. I was using the nickname "dexter" before the dexter's lab cartoon.

Actually the obnoxious part of me was hoping you'd come back saying that now you've had that theme song in your head and can't stop singing it! I think you've posted about that before. I'll purposely sing the same song for weeks, even walk around singing it out loud if no one's here, but when it's a commercial jingle or say, I flipped on MTV and it's a Justin Timberlake song or something..................Smilie, color, etc code changes that's when I pray to "stop the voices!!!!"

Actually what has been stuck in my head this week has been several songs from a band I've only recently "discovered"

Gomez

Anyone heard of them? I went to a concert a few weeks ago. Awesome.
