Hey friends! I'm so tired of thinking about "what's wrong with me"!! I have to except that I've developed an anxiety disorder and face it instead of consistantly looking for answers. Has anyone had, or knows anything about candidiasis??? I know it's not medically excepted fully, but I swear that with my constant "hungover" feeling (especially in the morning), the brain fog, headaches, dizziness, fatique, and constant bloating and gas, I think I have it. Especially since I can't touch alcohol, coffee, sugar, or breads without making the way I feel worse. I've been checked out by over 15 docs in the last two years and on and off every drug you can imagine. Diagnosis, I'm fine just anxiety. Help!

Well another welcome to the forum... but I'm still confused: candida not accepted by the medical community? Now I wish I had checked what country you live in! lol Of course it is accepted dx in the USA!
Items that assist bacterial growth, like yeast (breads) and alcohol, yogurt, blue cheese... make it worse. I'm guessing that your course of medications needs to be reviewed. It's unfortunate that you've had so many doctors, instead of just one who will stay the course. It is possible that this is one of those maladies that have become resistant to antibiotic type medications... um let me try and think about this... viral/infection/bacterial... nope I'm still confused, sorry. Not everything gets antibiotics... lol good thing I'm not a medical doctor! But you do need to take care of this, follow the meds and take them all, watch your diet... but you do need medicine for it. Aren't you just a little embarassed for talking about this, especially in a general forum? Like, it's a girl thing! lol sorry must be MY med.

Although I don't know any specifics, I just wanted to let you know that I have heard of what you are referring to. There are those who believe that some people are so sensitive to yeast or foods that contribute to an over-growth of yeast in the body, systemically, that it causes the feelings you described. Years ago I remember seeing a book on the subject. That might be your best bet if you want to go down that road, or maybe a Naturopath (I think that's what they're called) or a nutritionist might be more informed on the subject and more inclined to work with you on it than a "regular old MD."

Thanks for the inputs, I've been on Nizoral for three days and have been flu-like sick each morning (I was sparing you'll the details). I believe that may be a sign I'm on the right path b/c I read that you have a "die off" effect which releases toxins making your symptoms exagerated. I'll keep you posted b/c if this is the problem that has plagued me for years I will definitely want others to benefit by my experience.

Hey! Candida is a very real problem in my part of the world. Humidity, synthetic underwear, not enough water, hot baths, showers etc. all makes it worse and will bring it on as well. You need a course of antibiotics and eat natural yogurt while you are taking the antibiotics to help with the natural bacteria in the .. ummhhh... you know what I mean. :0)
Hope you feel better soon.

There may be a much simpler explanation to the nizoral effect. The active ingredient, ketoconazole, totally and completely inhibits the liver enzyme 3A4. That's one of your workhorse liver enzymes.
A much weaker inhibitor of that enzyme is grapefruit. If you're taking anything that is affected by grapefruit intake, I can guarantee you that you're going to have problems using nizoral. I really hope you're under the care of a doctor who understands the full effects of this drug. Lar |

I know Diabetics are more prone to this, if you are diabetic, rather on insulin or pills, you may want to check to see if your blood glucose is on the high side.
Before my mom had to go from diabetic meds (pills) to insulin, she would occasionally get yeast infections, one time (can't remember the name of it) the doc gave her a med that you only take one day and poof! it was gone ![]() She still needs to always monitor her blood glucose levels with her little machine. I have heard certain foods can encourage or even discourage this problem. Certain meds can contribute to this. I am happy to say I have never had this problem and pray I never will. Just my 2 cents ![]() DE
