For those of you who wish to follow the hurricane a little closer... you can watch one of South Florida's TV stations streaming live video on the internet:

NBC channel 6 news

Click on news then look for the live video info line... they are broadcasting 24 hour weather and radar for Southern FL...

looks like it might just go a little north (more, more!) and maybe we won't get the eye rage.

Any one who wishes to try and locate someone after the storm, the salvation army has an agreement with the Amateur Radio Relay League Emergency Services (arrl.org) SATERN and you can fill in a form online for inquiry. [url=http://qso.com/satern/emailfrm.htm[\url] The SA uses the local amateur radio operators for contact of who's found, who's in shelters, hospitals or... no contact made.

It's really bad here already. And now it's getting dark.

This is just what Hurricane Andrew did... increased strength as it came across the "gulfstream" and though it came in south ... and this one is north... most of us moved north! Here we are.

My son lives in Cape Coral FL and has hated these hurricanes and tropical storms. He has called be each time to tell me he loves me and will let me know when the storms pass that he is okay. I sometimes wish he would move back to MI, but then he would be stuck in snow banks....can't win!!

Thanks guys... I am okay! It's still rainy but they dropped the hurricane warning... now just tropical storm wind/rain.

Well... even Georgia received 3 hurricanes this year.... so go figure.

I was thinking this house is well made, but then they reported that we only received Cat 1 wind, so I still don't know how good this house is.

Bet Disney world will be real cheap now... they had prior to Jeanne dropped hotel price to $55 night! Gotta go lower now. Maybe that's what I need... ? SIgh.

Sky, I wish you safety, as well as those in the southern states, my mom lived in Volusia county and people her and I are still friends with from her neighborhood have told us how much damage they had, even mom's former home had a tree fall on the garage, good thing I had her come back to NJ, there is no way she would be able to act fast, due to her poor health, etc. I did love her area, she was close to New Smyrna Beach, say about 10-15 miles? Well anyway I am keeping fingers crossed, that all will be okay for y'all down yonder.
My brother lves in NC, about an hour or so from Cape Hatteras (sp?) he may get some nasty weather too.
I will be keeping all of you in my thoughts, please take care.

Thank God you're safe, Sky! I saw on the news this morning that a special needs shelter had to be evacuated in Melbourne. Not being exactly sure of where you are, my heart went out to you. Sooo glad it wasn't you! Hurricane Jeanne "local" news/weather-- in South FL

You suppose there's anything left to see at Disney World? Hurricane Jeanne "local" news/weather-- in South FL

Glad to hear that you are OK where you are at, from all these hurricanes.

From what I can understand they have been going on for quite some time now. I do not watch TV so have missed alot of the goings on with this.

Part of my feels guilty as I hear the people in the lobby talk of the storms, only they just do not seem real to me. They do seem more real now having heard from someone in the area being you.

I hope they stay away from where you are at and that they just stop all together. I know it must really be bad though cause when I went to the Salvation Army last week for monthly food assistance they had a sign saying they were sorry only no food at this time due to disasters of hurricanes.

I hope it is now over, and wish you safety from these bad storms.

I'm down in Miami, and I agree, we've had way to many hurricanes this year. Luckily Miami hasn't had it so bad, but that massive panic that accompanies each one really isn't fun anymore. Here's hoping Lisa stays out to sea like she's supposed to. Hurricane Jeanne "local" news/weather-- in South FL
