I've gotten to the point of putting the tv on, but the volume is always on mute. If i glance up at the tv it has to be something of comedy. If there is any blood, gore, guns, serious looking faces i have to change the channel. I dont know what channel it is, but Raymond and George Lopez are usually on. During the day the tv is never on. Late at night, i may put it on. I can't have the volume on becuase most commercials refer to something about post Katrina. And i am triggered and get into this mood that starts reminding me of the past. But at least i can put it on now. Next step, volume.

Not much of anything, Ziggy. In fact, hubby and I are going to have our TV cable service disconnected this week. Almost everything seems like garbage to us. What interests you on TV these days??? What interests you on TV these days???

I like the vase with fresh flowers a lot...but am carefull when watering...LOL

But other than that maybe the Discovery, Science or History Channel from time to time..

The higher sun gives TV very low ratings in my little world..

Biggest Loser - season finale tomorrow night!!
(the show is getting annoying but I try to watch to keep motivated)

CSI
Law & Order
any crime drama (my husband loves these)

I haven't really been watching much TV lately (no time!) but I also like:
Game shows / GSN
Baby Story
Home decorating shows on HGTV & DIY
Discovery Channel
Animal Planet
Food Network
Travel Channel

We cancelled cable for a while to save money but then realized we don't like ANYTHING on regular networks! So...yeah, we got cable.

I like something I can listen to because I'm always busy.

I like to listen to my "judge shows" during the day...not all, some are silly, but what I consider the "OK ones". With my years as a legal assistant, I am drawn to those.

In the evening, I like to listen to discovery health. I've always had an aptitude for medical stuff and LOVE learning different things there.

Late night I listen to "light" which is lifetime sitcoms (Will & Grace, Frasier and if I'm still awake, the Golden Girls...classic).

I do that as part of my daily routine.

Of course, Tues and Weds nights here, my world stops and I dare anyone to interrupt me during American Idol. What interests you on TV these days???

Oh, then a great new show of "Don't forget the lyrics" is a new weekly fav of mine! I just love Wayne Brady. What interests you on TV these days???

lol...I am probably going to get yelled at but...I do like some reality tv. Big Brother, except for this current season. I dont know where they got the likes of those people this time. It is horrifying. I take it one step further and get the 24 hour live feed. Drives my dh batty.

I like amazing race, and Cold Case...documentaries on anything and anyone, biographies, Book Tv and the history channel. I guess...I like anyting that shows the human condition. I am much too serious for my own good I know. I also am addicted to news programs.

I like(d) Heros, but I don't know what happened to the show...
I'm with TaintedGoth on the documentaries... National Geographic in HD is awesome! ... Discovery/Health, Bio, Sci, History channel. And I love, love, love shows like "A Haunting"! ooooo good stuff! I've caught a few of Two and a half Men, they were pretty funny, and House is always good.

But between 330 and 830pm it's Nick or Jetix. For the kids... they don't watch tv that long but if it's on between those hours, it's on one of those channels.

I too, miss the Sunday night rituals for the Disney movies... kids these days don't know what they're missing. ... Of course, I've had that said to me more than once as well. What interests you on TV these days???

I'm actually relieved to see that I'm not the only one who loves channels like the History Channel, Discovery, TLC, etc. And yes, I love A Haunting as well!!! Basically anything where I'm learning something or just having something reiterated is very pleasing to me.

I've always said it would be great to be a permanent student somehwere!

I remember watching "All in the Family" back in the 70's. I think

back and wonder how they got away with such Racism, bigotry, and

the way Archie always calling Edith a Dingbat!! It was sort of

funny back then, but try airing a new version of a show like that

today and it would really stir up people.

I also remember Maude, and then the jeffersons which were pretty

good.

Those were the Dayyyyssssss....!!!

I love medical shows, most of the ones on Discovery Health, lol. Also crime shows (CSI is my favorite show of all time). And America's Next Top Model and Project Runway.

Last night's finale - FIRST FEMALE BIGGEST LOSER!!!! WOO HOO!!!

I was so happy to see her win. She worked so hard and looks SO thin!!

And by the numbers - the top 2 people won both prizes (the $250 for the winner and the $100 for the kicked-off one). Bernie was about a half a percentage point above Roger. So...regardless of all the stupid game playing in the show - the "right" people won!! Yay!!

I haven't had a TV for almost a year & I thought I would miss it, but I don't miss it for one moment. I used to have the TV on 24/7 right after I went through the trauma with my Mother when she was dying of cancer. I was having horrile nightmares & found that having shows like home shopping shows on would keep the nightmares away. I found that when I had other shows on, they would actually show up in my nightmeres also.

Since I have moved to KY by myself without TV, I keep the radio going most of the time...country music......but I haven't felt the need to have TV even once. Now that I have my laptop going again.....I have started playing DVD's on that & watching those in the evening....sometimes better than TV.

I do miss the "dancing with the stars" show....I really loved that.

But I am also finding that now I am reading......I never even liked to read before. When I was an engineer, I was always reading technical manuals & design documents that I would read through 3 + times until I had every word & page memorized so when I got home....I didn't want to even look at a book......now I am reading & reading & comprehending everything rather than reading & not getting even one word of it.

I really do not miss the TV at all.

Amen to the NO TV THING. I went 7 years without cable/satellite/anything. And you can only pick up 2 channels max with the bunny ears.

While I like the few little shows I do watch now - the satellite more just came with my highspeed and phone package. Still don't use it so much.

I devour books too.

I like the History Channel too. I guess I do watch quite a bit of educational programs as well.

I agree that there are so many programs on TV now that just bury social morals in the ground. However, with certain options, there are channels that can be very informative and eye opening. It is just a pity that we have to include the trash that comes with it. I do need to try to read more often but my attention span lasts for maybe two pages at a time. lol What interests you on TV these days???
