I was busy doing paperwork and file stuff all day today when I got a call on my cell from my daughter. She is somewhat slow with communication. She started out telling me that the dogs were outside and a lady stopped and.... I yelled, IS HE OKAY? My little 10 pound male. She said he was rolled under the car and ran up stairs to my bed. When she and my friend's boy who was here cleaning found him he was shocky and sore in the hind end. I am at work and not thinking well, trying to find a phone book with the next county in it to call my vet. Then it occured to me to have her bring me the dog and I could go to a vet in the town I work. I am swearing and out of control all this while. Later a colleague told me that she just wanted to stay out of my way because of the way I was roaring around. She said it reminded me of her dad. So my daughter met me by the vet in town and I brought him in. He is sore all over and shocky. He has a large contusion on his bottom lip, very swollen. He has a sore right knee. He is alive. Vet gave him steroids and demerol like drug. He is out of it but more comfortable. I am watching for internal bleeding signs. He has stayed in my arms mostly the whole afternoon and evening. I went back to work and he woke up from his afghan on the floor and was uncomfortable so I picked him up and held him in my right arm, yes I am right handed, and typed with my left hand. I finally was exhausted so I called the colleague who had told me she was afraid earlier and she came and carried him out while I struggled with at least 50 pounds of files and my laptop and briefcase. He is going to be okay. I love my two little babies so much. They make me smile and they love to snuggle and my adrenaline took hours to calm. Turns out he and his sister were chasing a cat. Thank goodness the lady stopped to tell my daughter. I may have to take him and sis to the big office tomorrow which is 1 1/2 hours away so I can watch him and so she is not freaked. Hubby says she was on the stairs depressed and watching for us. I know he's okay because he keeps chasing the cats off the bed even though he is high as a kite. Hubby was home early today so he picked up kid from bus at 6:30 and I got to parent my puppy. I was so scared. I really feel like these kids are my best friends in the world. Those who know me from chat know that they are my special buddies. Anyway, here I am today trying to catch up on notes and get ready for my audit. Going to main office for support staff help, and this happens. I felt like I would explode. Hubby says to think about the fact that doggie is okay and the audit is small stuff compared to that. It's just a job he says. Puppy is life. I liked the sound of that though the reality is I like my work and have been at it for 15 years. So the two little ones are lying together on the pillows next to me. They love their mommy too.

{{{{{{{{{{{{WiseWoman}}}}}}}}}}}}

I'm glad that he will be ok. My dog got hit by a car a few years ago, and we took her to the vet because she wouldn't walk afterwards, and he couldn't find anything wrong with her and called her a wimp. She turned out to be fine. It's traumatic though.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{wisewoman}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I was scared for a moment, but I am very glad to hear the baby will be okay! Pets are like kids, and we love them just as much.

Vet's meds wearing off and a look of pain in his eyes. He is restless. I had hubby give him half a baby aspirin and now I think that was dumb if he is bleeding inside.I will take him to work with me in the morning and have a city vet check for bleeding and give more pain meds. He is a lucky pup. I feel traumatized. He is a dog alright, but he is my friend. They see the part of ,e tat is alive. They are that part.

Perhaps this is indicative of where I find myself these days, but every time *I* see the initials "ww," I think of Weight Watchers! My Doggie

So glad to hear doggie is ok. Phew! I don't know how you do it - you've got so much going on, and yet you still have your sense of humour and words of wisdom... It boggles my mind. My Doggie
