Here is my article!

Puerto Rico : A Spectacular Land Of Mountains, White Sands and Sunny Days

Puerto Rico is quickly becoming one of the top destinations for today’s traveler. If you are seeking somewhere to escape and lose yourself to sun, sands, and natural wonders, you will find this Caribbean island has much to offer.

A great feature of this destination is that travel between Puerto Rico and the United States is not limited and does not require a passport or passing through customs. All that is required is some form of government issued Photo Identification. This provides for a much more relaxed and informal traveling experience.

Puerto Rico is rich in many different aspects. This stunning island is both culturally and naturally rich. There are many fascinating places to explore. The island itself is small, being approximately 3,508 sq miles of natural beauty. With 312 miles of pure coastline, there is plenty of opportunity for tanning, swimming and scuba diving, There is also opportunity for fishing excursions and sailing. In addition to these benefits, Puerto Rico maintains an average annual temperature of 80°F (26°C).

Just a few of the naturally beautiful areas to visit include Guajataca State Forest and Lake in Isabela, the Rio Camuy Caves in Camuy, and Condado Beach in San Juan. Also noteworthy are the Montoso Gardens in Maricao, Toro Negro Forest Reserve in Jayuya, and Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge. For the beach lover, there is a bevy of beaches waiting for you to relax on and indulge in the warm waters.

Culturally Puerto Rico has many wonderful experiences for those who enjoy immersing themselves. Puerto Rico is home to a number of holidays throughout the year. Some of these include Conmemoración Del Estado Libre Asociado (Commonwealth of Puerto Rico), which is on July 25th, Día Del Descubrimiento de Puerto Rico (Discovery of Puerto Rico Day), which is on November 19th, and Día de los Tres Reyes Magos (Three Kings Day).

Many locations on the island celebrate patron saints with festivals. A noteworthy festival to experience includes the celebration of San Juan Bautista, in San Juan on June 24th. You can experience a mix of sacred and secular traditions. Food and music abound; children run and play, and there is much dancing. A special mass is given in honor of the saint and afterward, a giant piñata is ceremoniously broken and the festivities continue until the sun has gone down. Each location has a patron saint and festival, leaving you with many choices for rich experiences.

The people of Puerto Rico are well known for their warm hospitality, and are very friendly and expressive to strangers, so you can expect a cordial and genuine welcome while visiting. The handshake is used for introductions, and watch for lively hand expressions and gestures, as this is a very important part of communication.

For nightlife, there are many excellent nightclubs and attractions to be visited. Fridays in San Juan feature the Plaza del Mercado street party every Friday starting at 5pm. Roll to Buyé for hot night, and then relax at the cool Lounge at Normadie Hotel or Waterclub's Liquid lounge. Saturdays continue the fun with Entana del Mar's 'Di Parma', and then the exciting See and Be Seen at Moorings outdoor bar. For a nice finish to the evening, visit Brava, San Juan's premier dance club and dance until the sun comes up!

Of course, these are only a few of the exciting exotic experiences to be had on this wonderfully diverse island paradise. The island awaits your presence!

Wish me luck!!!

Thank you!

I think I have always had the "writer" bug.. I used to write stories in my journal in elementary school and I had a couple poems published too long long ago.

So I am giving it another shot.

And, after research, I kind of want to go there myself! Wish me luck!!!
