A lady friend of mine at work has told me that I could not write anything of a romantic nature. She said there was so much darkness in my being that I could not conceive of something with positive emotions and conventionally beautiful images.

So I told her that I could and I would have a something of substance by the end of next week. I will post a copy of this in the creative forum when I finish it.

I have never attempted anything like this before, so it will be quite a task.

Interesting, her idea of romantic. Have fun, Tim, and be romantic in your own way. It doesn't have to be that light and "fluffy", it can be quite serious and sweet or anything you want it to be.

Interesting....

Writing is like painting...pretty much anyone can put color on a brush but there is big difference from a bathroom wall to a Monet'.

And motive is an important aspect of what we do... when we do something for something vs. because of something....

Is your wife going to be able to read your creation?

Good luck with your writing Tim and I hope you find what your looking for...

Lenny

Hope it all works out. Just because somebody seems dark natured doesn't mean they can't perceive something like romance. Shoot, even romance could be dark natured...that would be a good twist.

I'm curious, were you hurt by her remark? Maybe I'm quite overly sensitive...but that's the kind of thing that would make me cry..... A wrtiing challange

Not at all, she is always a good friend to me. I understood her intent and she was just being brutally honest, which is ok, I just want to do this for myself as well just to see if I can pull it off, not just to best her.
