I live an apartment complex that goes based upon your income here in West Virginia. A lot of the occupants are HUD people too. Some have been here several years but a lot of people come and go. There's a lot of drug activity up here, with the more new people coming the more new drugs come too. It's becoming scary here.
There is a lot of drugs and drama along with that's my man, wife stuff. People's apartments have been broken into. My neighbor directly next to me has lost her children again. The drugs are VERY bad here, especially painkillers and any other type of pills. People are constantly knocking at my door asking me for cigarettes, rides, food, or anything else....you wouldn't believe it. Even fricken toilet paper. I had one woman tell me she had absolutely no food for her kids and that she'd pay me back right away if I helped her. Well, she owes me 40 bucks from like 6 months ago. I hate letting my kids play outside to because the kids here are horrible. Some of them are good kids just bad conditions. I understand why they act the way they do but I'm very protective over my kids. I had a preteen looking kid ask my four year old son if he was a virgin. That pissed me off. I also had a fight broken out in front of all three of the babies, and some vulgar things were exchanged...shoot, when I was a kid I wouldn't have understood half of what they were saying....it was awful. I hate this hill........I want off this hill for good. I want a house with a yard and no neighbors up my butt.

I lived in an area just like yours. It was like living in hell. I started helping a neighbor who then never payed me back. It got to the point that she came to my door and told me bring me some eggs I am making brownies. No asking just telling. I finally had to move when gun shots were going off in the night. I could not take it no more. If you are considered disabled due to your mental illness there are some HUD properties that are for disabled and over 60. They are much much more calm places to live.

I hated apartment living just because of this very thing! I hope you are able to get out of there and into a safer, affordable place.
