I talked to my boss(es) and explained that I have a personal "medical" issue going on. I apologized for getting behind on my projects, and most importantly, for not informing them how far behind I was.

They were surprisingly supportive!! I am so happy. I was scared to death that I'd lose this job. But my therapist pointed out one thing - if they were planning on firing me, they would not have just paid $2,500 for my CPA review course and another $1,000+ for the CPA exam test fees. They are invested in me, they want me to stay for a while to pay back that investment.

I have vowed to myself not to spend too much time online while at work. So, FYI, I probably won't be posting here as much as I used to! And I'm going to do my best to only stick to "good" websites, such as this one and checking email and misc. stuff. By the way, there is no official company policy about internet usage, but I do know I shouldn't be online at work.

I also asked if I can go part-time from now thru the end of July. They said that was okay!! Yay!!!

I'm going to take two days off a week. I'm hoping for Thursday & Friday so I can have a long weekend. Then I'll do my therapy appointments on Thursdays so I don't have to work them around my lunch break. Yipee!!

I'm doing so much better. I think the meds my doc gave me really helped me to think clearly and make rational decisions. This is good.

Razzleberry

That's FANTABULOUS NEWS! Whenever I got into a corner as you did, I always found the best approach to be open and honest - without having to go into too much detail. You were able to describe your issues in a way they could understand and made it clear your job is important to you. Not only were they able to see your courage in admitting your predicament, they saw your dedication to your job. Doing so much better @ work

Way to go, Razzle. I hope this new schedule works out great for you. Doing so much better @ work

Way to go Razzleberry.

I hope the new schedule works out for you. And I'm really glad you were able to talk to them at work & explain things. Now remember to stay off the internet at work.

Wow, that's a very positive post! Congratulations! You are very lucky they are so understanding. It sounds like you are working for a really great company--one that actually cares about it's employees. A happy employee is always a productive one. Which of course, means profits to the company. So many hidden benefits in working for a company like that. Doing so much better @ work
