We are working on brain and perception at this time. My question is regarding the Gestalt theory.
Why is it some people who look at a 3 dimensional optical illusion, CAN easily distinguish the “decided” pattern(s)? And Why is it some people who look at an optical illusion, CANNOT distinguish the “decided” pattern(s)? What part of the brain is affected? Is there anything else that is different between these people? |

This sounds like something to ask your professor. The people here suffer from various mental illnesses. Most of us aren't trained in psychology except insofar as we need to be to understand our diseases.

Ithink you answered your own question in a way... you said you are studying the brain and... perception!
not getting into the working of the brain... but if you consider that someone who has a black and white attitude, versus someone who views things completely and thinks about them... their perceptions of the world, and thus the illusion is different. To answer more completely... would require me to pull my text books... something you need to do! By the way.. welcome!
