I've finished classes at school for nearly 3 weeks now but today I had my last exam, Legal Studies. I don't think it's still really sunk in but I will never have to pick up another text book for high school ever again. Like most of my friends we have all become accustomed to the set routine of going to school every single day, going out on weekends before going back to school to start a new week, bit a homework now and then and a bit of tv. School has dominated my short life so far and now that exams are over I'm buzzing with excitement. I can't believe that in only a few months I'm going to Melbourne to start university and then the year after the next will be going on international exchange to America. So it really is awesome to see that no matter how long and drawn and often painful something may seem, things do come to an end. From now on everything I do will be done on account of what I want to do, rather than my parents, friends or teachers. It is just so hard to describe the feeling of freedom I have where it's as though I have finally been given the power and control over my life. BRING IT ON!

Hi Ozze -- I am so glad that you are celebrating this occasion. It is grand. Sometimes we forget to take time to reward ourselves for achieving our goals.

It is too true that you will find a whole new set of power arrangements in your life now -- professors and employers and government.

But now is not the time to repine on such things. Congratulations on your wonderful accomplishment.

That must be an amazing feeling. It is a scary thought to not have school involved in your life when that is all that you know. However it can be a great feeling too, which it seems that you feel.
