Does anyone know why a computer stops downloading? umm... Just out of the blue, I can't download my fav program of paltalk. Actually, I can't download anything and I don't know why. I never was able to get JAVA but that isn't an issue, as I am going to go nutsssssssssss without my paltalk voice chat. Does any computer wizard know how I can get back to downloading??????????? I have never had this problem before.... What it does is it starts to download but it won't complete the download. I have cable and this is not supost to happen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.........If I don't figure this out somehow, I have a feeling someone maybe calling the men in white coats to come get me........... I'd do a lol about now, but I don't really feel like laughing at this point .. maybe a small smile is all I can muster, and it will be a fake smile at that.

ah gee radio I'm sorry your feeling this way! It is frustrating. I'll answer until someone with real expertise gives a better answer lol

sometimes it's the site you're downloading from... their error
sometimes there is too much noise on the connection..
sometimes there isn't enough memory available on your computer... especially if you have lots of photos or are downloading gifs or jpgs... try resetting your allowance on your internet options, to allow more space for files...

Hi sky....Thanks for the check list. Went thru the list and my son says it could be too much noise on the connection, "whatever that means". I am computer stupid. ha....... I have spyware blaster, spy sweeper, ad-adware thingie, spybot,.. and two anti virus programs. ooo and zone lab. Wondering if I am somehow blocking myself with one of these programs. But then I've had these programs for several months and had no problem.....Can't believe my nerves are frayed over a computer.. or could it be I am addicted to paltalk.. ha
Thanks again...... I appreciate your suggestions...

Ok if it's noise, it's coming in on the cable... have the company check it and place a filter on it... or perhaps you can go to someplace like radio shack or sound advice and discuss it with them. and buy a filter. (The phone line filter for dial up can be found at dollar stores here lol) They are just inline filters for line noise.... (I can't even have regular TV-cable because they can't get the noise off the line without laying new cable duh.)

If you run too many programs when you try and get into your pal site, that might inhibit a full download, I think.
