hi All... Breathing and Water...

i just got out of the shower (yes, i am dressed now lol)

as i was washing i remembered something a friend of mine had told me about several years past, something i'd tried to make a habit of, but then forgot til now...

have you ever breathed a small amount of water in through your nose while ducking your head under water?

talk about some sensory excitement! wow!

i thought about it a bit and remembered a time past when i nearly drowned.. a child in my class didnt know how to swim and the class all used our physical education time for an afternoon swim at the pool...

when "David" jumped in the 12 foot end of the diving board (guess he just wanted to try it) he instantly began to drown...

i heard one of my classmates yell 'He's drowning!!'

i turned and saw what she was talking about.. a lot of the kids were watching, guess they were scared to help?

myself and another guy jumped in and tried to keep him afloat but we hadnt received the proper lifesaving skills and soon David was climbing on his would be helpers backs and pushing us under so he could breathe himself....

long story short, everyone was saved that day.....

a different friend of mine many years later told me how he 'breathes' a mix of water and salt daily to clear his passageways...

after using heavily chlorinated water for my try, i see what he means about passageways (chile peppers will work too)

it seems important to me (maybe i am wrong) to use the most purified water possible?

it made me think about the relationship of moisture to breathing... i know in my own life i habitually deny myself enough water and those tiny, sensitive membranes in my nasal passage become very dry... and then my breathing ability suffers....

i think it is very important we keep a healthy flow of oxygen to our brains..

ty for reading and replying .. have a wonderful day!

I came back and edited post after I though a bit about it
Kids need to be taught life saving tecs.
Also adults need to be with kids by the pool

it was a blessing you were there
you and the other boy
Its always amazed me how ((i know they were kids)))
but can stand and watch with out helping....
its a gut reaction to help

once was a wreak...saw it..ppl stopped and stared ...no one was going to help.
my gut reaction was to help...its just there ....
sorry am not puffing myself up..

I was just floored everyone watched.....

The school system in my area started a life saving program at the local college. All the fourth graders are taken to the college to learn swimming techniques, how to safely save a drowning victim, and what to do on ice if you or someone falls thru or is on cracking ice. None of my children or grandson has ever had to use it (thank goodness) but I always tested their knowledge of what they learned so they would remember.

Now if t he occasion arised where they needed to use it...I hope they would have jumped in and helped instead of being one of them that stood and watched.

((((muffy))))) ((((nwtr))))))

Many people use a neti pot to irriagte their sinuses.

Maybe this is the "breathing water" that you write of?

It's supposed to be really good for you. It's much better than using decongestants. Pharmacies carry them.

Knowing how to swim is a very good idea. I can remember almost drowning as a child. I was taking swimming lessons and had learned how to jump in the pool but didn't know the difference between the deep end and the shallow end and I jumped into the deep end and I couldn't swim very well and my dad had to save me. We were on vacation and at the motel swimming pool and both my dad and my sister were trying to get to me and I was just bobbing up and down while my mom was screaming get to her get to her. My dad got to me and got me out before I totally went under.

I recommend life jackets for kids when they are around water.

Yeah NTR, you want to get yourself a 'nettie pot'.

It's specifically for this thing... use filtered water, and salt that is minus the iodine.

You pour in one nostril while breathing out, with the nose of the nettie pot, and it comes out the other nostril. Reverse. You are done.

Nothing like cleaning out this area, which can carry many infectious germs and bacteria into our system.

It's great for those who suffer sinus troubles too, as well as some allergies and asthma, and a number of other ailments.

Glad you all survived - kids and pools - scary sometimes - at least nowadays we teach them to swim earlier, and rescue younger.

You can get your lovely nettie pot at any health food store or right here - ck out the cook healthy salves and stuff, and organics.

peace and comfort,

thanks for adding everyone Breathing and Water... i didnt know i'd learn so much about this! it really felt great after i irrigated the canals... there was a huge flush of stuff.. water just makes it move right out... i was very concerned about the damage i might do with impure solutions.. it sounded nuttty to me to use salt? thought it might dry ouot the membranes? just me thinking..

thanks for doing that research and adding those links!

i agree with muffy, jbug and snowy ... for sure some life saving skills would have made that day different..
