I've not been dealing with some things in the right way recently. When things go bad, I outwardly behave like I know I need to but on the inside, I'm a champ at repressing my feelings... still.

I've been triggered by some relationships and told myself it was okay. Obviously it wasn't because I was triggered again yesterday and my PTSD got the best of me. I over reacted to a few people on the board as well as in chat. I'm truly sorry for my behavior. I hope that those of you whom I offended can forgive me. I definitely missed the mark yesterday.

I will be redoubling my efforts to change this behavior.

I'm really trying to not be so hard on myself, but it isn't always working.

(((((((((((((( September )))))))))))))))))

Acknowledging what's going on with us is more than half the battle in overcoming it, or at the least managing it.

I know it's difficult to do, but pray you peace as you continue through this journey.

(((((((((((Tomi)))))))))))),

Thanks for pointing me here......I have been overloaded & didn't get a chance to read until now.
Patience, gentleness, self-control, love......all are how we react to people in the situations we are in. Remember that these are qualities that develope in us over time. Fruit doesn't come ripe on the tree fully developed, ready to eat. When we pray for these characteristics in our lives, we are actually praying to be put into situations where we will get a chance to use them & develope them & practice them.

These things don't just happen in us or through us......they take time to be developed & grow as we grow in our faith & knowledge & wisdom.......but definitely not without practice.......remember most of all the most important thing about us is that we are work in progress.

Asking for forgiveness is the important.....but as much importance is not beating yourself up over a slipup. Situations like this remind us that we are human & still have work to do & that we aren't fully developed.

You are loved & forgiven you are growing & developing,
Debbie

Thanks so much, {{{{{{{{{{{Debbie.}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I knew you would understand. You're such a kind and gentle spirit.

Most of the Fruit you speak of has developed in me while I was unaware, truthfully, i.e., I wasn't concsciously working on it as part of the Fruit. This is one of the first times that my PTSD reared its ugly head since I've been working on it consciously. That stuff blindsides you! WOW!

Don't have to go into detail here because you know what caused my PTSD. However, I'm thinking it goes back even further; into my childhood. THAT brings up anger in me that I thought I had dealt with. Apparently triggers don't quite work that way.

This is going to be yet another journey for me and I know you'll be there walking right along side of "us".

Love you, Debbie!

(((((((Tomi))))))) Your openly accepting responsibility for your actions and asking forgiveness shows that you are able to humble yourself before others and admitt a wrong. That says alot about your character and shows your sincerity and honesty.

When we become triggered, things do happen that we regret later. It's what we decide to do about it that makes the difference. You chose to ask forgiveness and try to make things right with those you feel you effected. You chose to do the right thing.

I am proud of you for that!

Much love,
recluse1
