My mom is sooooooooo cool. Today we went to my favorite clothing store because I had a coupon for 50% off my total purchase. Well she helped me pick out some items and then we get to the register and she says avert your eyes. I had my stuff rang up and I was to only spend $60 and there was this pair of pants I had in my bundle of clothing but I didn't have the money for them so she put them in her pile of things and told me Merry Christmas. I don't get them until after Christmas as she's going to wrap them and I get to open them then. She also bought me 2 bras and herself a shirt. The ladies in the shop were so nice and let her use my coupon as well so that helped out. Mom also renewed our Perks card which everytime I go in I get 10% off anything and that includes when they have sales. At first she wasn't sure if we needed to renew it but then after she figured up how much I'd save she decided to do it. MY MOM ROCKS!!!!

I know what store you are talking about. It's my favorite too. I avoid going there BECAUSE I spend oodles of money...then feel guilty later.

Your mom sounds like my mom too. It's great to have a wonderful mom. I bet you count your blessings...like me. My mom

Oh, I read your first post on this and felt like oh yeah, I don't know anything about having a great mom. But as I am reading all of this now I am struck by the fact that I have a mother In law. I love her dearly. She is not a warm fuzzy type, she is reserved and practical. She holds all family sacred, extended cousins etc. She is great at keeping in touch with her family and friends. She has really good taste. She got me a soft soft jean skirt and blouse set for channukah. I always love her gifts. She understands when I am sad and when I need love and gives it in a way she is able. She is a mother, not mine, but a good one and I know she loves me. She also does things like take me to get a bathing suit when I forget to bring one and take me out for chinease, just she and I. I have always had a hard time receiving gifts. She has made it easier for me. She is my hubby's mommy and he loves her. I guess I will keep her.

If any of you don't have a good relationship with their mom I will loan mine out but you can't keep her. When I was a teen I was a Rebel with a capital R. I would argue with her and she just stood there and took it. I have no idea how she didn't haul off and slap me because I sure needed it. I can remember getting smacked across the face once but I deserved it. After years of me being a horrible daughter I have seen the light and we are now best friends.....I can tell her almost anything.

I'm glad you have a great mom Janniebug but I don't think a mom should EVER slap a daughter across the face. Not that I haven't been sorely tempted. I spanked one of my kids once because I was so desperate I wanted to see if it would work. She turned to me after and said that a mother should Never hit her child and that I should never do that again. She was young and I was foolish. Wonder if she remembers? Parenthood ain't so easy eh?

Yeah, smacking doesn't do much good IMHO, or maybe it does. I don't know. I'm still scared sometimes that my dad will slap me lol, and I'm 20! So yeah... I think all smacking does is make you scared of your parent doing it again. Or that is my experience.
