These are the pictures I took of the storm tonight. Sorry for some of the reflections in the pictures. I was inside my kitchen at the time( staying safe lol) They do think there were some tornado's in the area. They are just yet to be varified. And for those of you that know my name and where I live, I have submitted 2 pictures to the photo gallery on The Weather Channel. Just thought I'd let ya know!

This is the beginning of the storm.

This is just before it reached our house. The storm was reported to be moving 65mph. By the time it reached Toledo, it was reported to be moving at 76 mph.

I'm no weather person, but by the tower, do you guys think that could be a tornado? Its about where they said they spotted one out of possible 5 in the area.

it kind of looks like it could be but can't see a definite funnel, but it could have been on the ground at that time. sure is scarey though when you are in that kind of weather.

Awesome pics.

I am always interested in the weather...I love storms. Yeah looks like a nasty one! My fiancee said he never got interested in the sky till he moved to Mississippi...for good reason!

I'm glad you're safe!

Well my pics wont load up onto the Weather Channels site.. they have to be less than 400k's and I cant get mine down that small in jpeg form. Any suggestions? When I use Paint, the picture is like too big to see what I am doing in order to cut it. I tried another program and reducing it.. but then it shows like the first 1/3 of the pic and thats it. Any suggestions?

I have a program called PhotoFiltre. It's like an alternative to Paint Shop Pro...if you download PhotoFiltre you could resize it easily.

Here's the link:

you can also use photoshop to edit picture sizes. Storms facinate me. i think its mostly just the excitement of something different happening tho cuz i get all excited about the storm until its right on top of me which is about the time it gets kinda scary, then once it moves away i get disapointed cuz its over. maybe im just wierd lol

keep safe
I know about storms - remembering being down to New Orleans and unbelievable rain and hailstorms while driving - so bad that we had to pull off to the side of the road - couldn't see well enough to drive.
And in my own location, remembering a storm (maybe a tornado) and such a storm and rainfall, that when I finished my shift around midnight - the streets were like lakes - had to wade through the street to get to my car (and it had water in its floor), trying to drive home, but the streets were flooded, finally did arrive home to find the basement half full of water - wading through the water to remove what could be removed - throwing it out into the driveway - probably wasn't safe to be wading through the water in the basement - up to my mid-thighs (but I was younger and didn't know any better).

not trying to frighten you about storms, but
this was some new that I noticed just now,
up here, to show how some communities respond:

"The same storm system dumped heavy rain on Manitoba and spawned tornadoes in Minnesota.

Several townships in the Thunder Bay area as well as the Fort William First Nation declared a state of emergency, and some residents of the village of Hymers, near Thunder Bay, were moved from their homes as a precaution.

At least one major highway has been closed because of a washout, and several secondary roads have been damaged.

Residents in Thunder Bay who get water from wells have been advised to boil it before drinking.

Residents in Laird Township east of Sault Ste. Marie spent Saturday assessing the damage after being hit by what they believe was a tornado on Friday.

Witnesses said the twister cut a path through a forest and the storm that accompanied it brought near golf ball-sized hail that sounded like gunfire when it hit cars and homes. "

This was for description, and for thoughts of preparation such as emergency plans.

Awesome pics although I can't really make a tornado out cause I can't see a definite funnel or rotation.
