Does anyone else find that the summer is actually more depressing than the winter?
I mean suuure you have the bad weather and shorter daylight, but it almost seems as if that makes me feel better about not wanting to do anything. "I dont want to go do ________ look at it outside". But when its nice out ... you see all these "happy" people walking around, going on with their lives all in good moods because the weather is nice. Now THAT makes me feel like crap way more than less sunlight. ![]()

Hey you aren't just bitter
![]() I know where you're coming from about feeling you should do more in the summer. But I do feel more depressed in winter often with the grey UK days....... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi Jacq,
I totally understand what you mean-it's one of the many reasons why I love rainy days. In the summer there's too much pressure to be outside 'cause the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and everything is supposed to be so freaking wonderful. this year I don't feel too bad about it. I've been enjoying the warmth and being outside so far but I HATE that the sun comes up so early and wakes me up at 5:30 am. I have to invest in light blocking curtains. Anyway, it could also be that you're stripped down to the least amount of clothes and more of your body is exposed. I know I use to hate that about summertime also. (((((((((Jacq))))))))))) Hope you get through it okay. We'll probably have a looooong and very hot one. |

I experience SADD to such a great extent that moving to the Sunshine State was greatly influenced by my need for it. An occasional rainy, gray or stormy day is okay, like sinking into a comfortable bed, and I sometimes miss those days of hot tea in the pot, staring out a snowscape until the roads were ploughed, but in general, nope, I love the sun.

You are not alone. I much prefer the rain to the sunshine. Maybe I'm just used to it?!
Take care, Okie

I agree, it has been really hot and sunny here and it just makes me more depressed cause I can't be outside doing stuff I want to - today it is raining - I am in a much better mood
