I still don't really have a handle on what forum to post things in, so please excuse me if I'm in the wrong place. When I saw the post about tree pics, I thought it would be ok, to ask my question here. If I'm wrong, maybe somebody can tell me where in the future I should've posted this. Dang, that was a whole lot of rambling and I still haven't gotten to my question. As you get to know me, you'll see I'm pretty good at rambling and digressing and then forgetting what the original topic was. more dumb questions from this newbie

Anyway, I'd like to know if it is possible to put one of the smilies from this site in my sig? I'd like to put that angel girl more dumb questions from this newbie in all my posts but don't want to go and get her everytime. Call me lazy. more dumb questions from this newbie

While I'm asking questions I'd also like to know why we would have this particular smilie. more dumb questions from this newbie I fail to see how he could be used in anyway that could possibly be construed as supportive. Clarification please!!! more dumb questions from this newbie

And since I'm on a roll, I'll question a couple of more smilies if y'all don't mind. more dumb questions from this newbie

What would you use this one for? more dumb questions from this newbie It seems to me that that is 2 dudes trying to get rid of a 3rd dude?

And what about this one? more dumb questions from this newbie Is it for protesting, cuz somehow that doesn't seem a very supportive thing either.

Ok, I'll leave it at that for now. So, anybody want to clear up this newbie's confusion to the proper use of these particular smilies? more dumb questions from this newbie

hey, angelgirl.

good questions. as far as the more dumb questions from this newbie more dumb questions from this newbie more dumb questions from this newbie i've almost used these several times...not to demonstrate something to someone here, but to demonstrate how it relates to me in real life.

for instance, in a ranting post i made the other day, i'd quoted something that my mother said and put more dumb questions from this newbie by it. it was what i was thinking about her statement. i later deleted it from the post tho for personal reasons. as for the demonstration image...wow, i could personally use that at times to explain what's going on in head with all the noise.

i agree with you, it might not be supportive to use those here in response to a post that someone has made personally...but they're great at explaining what i feel about the ppl IRL to gain the support that i need here. another instance... more dumb questions from this newbie i almost used to demonstrate how crowded my head feels sometimes. does that make sense? i hope so more dumb questions from this newbie

so, while i agree that using the b.s. one to state that what someone said in a post was b.s. (not supportive), i think they're a great tool to demonstrate how a person may feel personally...

as far as using the angel girl in signature, i hope someone else can help you with that one. i have images in signature, but i actually had to type in a website to ontain those.

welcome and gl...just giving you another point of view on the images that could be construed as non supportive, but can be very good tools in demonstrating feelings that need support.

i hope you're having a good day more dumb questions from this newbie

The name of these guys is "crowded." Some of us get fleet-footed when chat is too crowded -- that smilie offers a good explanation for one's departure.

Did someone say "passive aggressive"? I, too, am still decompressing after a 3 week ban.

When you've been banished for 3 weeks, do you pack for the long term or stay in the moment? I want to be in the moment, yet at the same time, a grudge is building inside me.

I don't think I can go back.

It reminded me of that kids magazine we used to read at the dentists office...um...can't recall the name. But it had games with sentences like that. And at the end of the mag it had a drawing with items hidden in it...ya know?? Like find the iron in the tree branch?? Ok, emmy is flashing back to childhood again. I'll be back in about an hour....loopy emmy!! more dumb questions from this newbie

Hi Woeful. Welcome to PsychCentral. Holding a grudge isn't healthy for anyone. I try to release mine as soon as I can. The longer I hold them, the harder they are to release. And as I've told lots of people, there is no reason not to post in both places.

Take care. emmy

Oi! gg! The dentist's office kids' magazine was called "Highlights." My favorite part was always "Goofus and Gallant," about two young blokes, one of whom, Goofus, is apparently the devil's spawn because he doesn't help little old ladies across the street or get his thank-you notes out promptly, and one of whom, Gallant, is apparently the second coming, because he's really, really talented at sucking up to authority and never, ever breaks any rules. Plus, he uses flavored condoms. Very thoughtful. I guess you can tell which one I favored. more dumb questions from this newbie Gallant was a such a nebbish. Ta. more dumb questions from this newbie Cheshire Cat, who is stunned at Angel's adept use of of smilies. Bravo, luv!

Magazine at the dentist office? Yowza!!! Major dentist phobia over here. I would be too busy planning my escape to bother with the magazines and my escape was successful a time or two.
