Hullo, campers. Just for those of you who may be worndering why I've gone walkabout from PC over the next few days: I suffered injuries in a serious auto accident last night while visiting my parents in New Jersey. I was driving my mom's Honda Civic to pick up some last-minute groceries for her. I came off of I-287 and was sitting on an exit ramp (I had the "yield sign) waiting for the last of a row of cars to pass so I could make a right turn. Without warning, a huge Mercedes 220 came barreling up the ramp behind me and slammed into the back of my car at about 50 miles per hour. This was at about 6:30 p.m. The entire rear section of the Honda was destroyed. I suffered whiplash and a severe concussion. We are still waiting on the final reading of the x-ray results to ensure there are no microfractures to my spine. My brain literally ricocheted off the inside front of my skull, then struck the back, then struck the front again before settling down. The doctor had a technical name for this, but I can’t remember what it is. I blacked out briefly, and eventually I was extracted from the remains of the car and taken to a hospital ER. I was released this morning, but spent most of the time between the wreck and my release strapped to a body board to stabilize my head and neck and spinal injuries -- about 8 hours in all. I had a multiple cat scans and x-rays. This morning, I had to go see my internist for an emergency appointment. I am on very powerful pain killers and a muscle relaxant, and therefore spent most of the day drifting into and out of consciousness. I sincerely you all have a MUCH better weekend and Valentine's Day than I anticipate. Ta. Cheshire Cat

Hey sweetie, well you already told me in a PM and I replied you. Please take care of yourself and follow the doctor's orders. I hope the test results come back ok. I miss you already but you probably know that already. Anyway, don't get into any more cat mischief while you're recouperating and I'm sure we'll talk. Wish I could be there to take care of you in person but I'm with you in spirit. BTW, I've already sent my prayers to the big guy upstairs for ya. Luv ya bunches, your AngelGirl Car wreck Car wreck

Cat,
It's amazing that one fateful instant in life can have such a profound altering effect compared to the sum of a multitude of mundane moments. Best wishes on the body's miraculous ability to heal. Can't wait to see you use this as poetic fodder. I hope you can find solace in the cathartic release received in the simple movement of a pen.

I was wondering how this is going to unfold in poetry myself, especially with all those drugs they got him on. Car wreck

Wow Cat, what a scarey thing to happen. Glad you are mostly okay and hope there is no lasting damage. My goodness it sounds terrible. It might be fun to read your posts while your on your meds, who know. Heal quickly so you can get back to your new found relationship.

Dude! That really bites big time.

A Mercedes huh? Do I smell a juicy law suit? Some good may come out of this after all.

But seriously, I do hope all your test results come out fine. And I sincerely hope that there won't be any real long term bad affects from this. I just wish there were something we could be doing to help you right now. But for now, enjoy those delicious meds they have you on and make the most of that wacky state of mind. I know that's what I'd be doin'. TgrsPurr.

I'm so touched that you missed me but I told you not to think of me on the weekend. Car wreck

cat, is not doing so well. As the drs warned him, Saturday and Sunday he could feel worse and he did, Sunday being worse than Saturday. I haven't talked with him yet today but I hope he is at least starting to feel better. He has a lot of pain and his meds are making him feel nauseous. Of course you know cat, it's hard to keep him down but I think he is learning he has to curtail his kitty prowling no matter how antsy he's getting in his apartment, at least I hope!!! Car wreck I think it will be quite awhile before he is feeling all that much better. I'm anxious to hear if he has gotten back any test results yet. I hope my baby is going to be alright. I worry about him and I'm so damn far away. Car wreck
