Thanks, I would really appreciate that. As you can see, I need it desperately. I don't think my T knows what she got herself into when she took me on as a patient. A Poll

I think it's a great idea. So many of us battle with self esteem problems. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think it would be a good idea too. I normally don't struggle too much with this issue but I know how hard it can be when I do feel like I am a failure. Times like this it would be nice to have some place to share that particular feeling.

I think you are right when you said it would get lost in General.

Are there enough ppl here with decent self esteem to know what to post? But maybe .. since there are more and more members who are "tooting their own kudo horn" in the Kudo and Affirmation forum. And many ppl also start a new thread to recognize a member who has been "kudo'd" in the past... when I thought I read about how to do a search and pull the thread and add to it??? sigh

Good luck on this one too. I still think "we" need to divide up the General area some more, I hadn't been around for nearly a week and there are like over 1000 posts there alone????? Forget it. I'm having all posts marked as read, and moving on. ("we" as if we really had anything to do about these matters!)

And also, remember the forum we thought would be good: NO ANSWER REQUIRED one? Where we could just post, well, like your quotes that don't require a reply, or when someone is going to be away and wanted others to know, or a rant where the member knows it's a rant and really doesn't want a reply?

And what we need, imo, is a forum for ALL new members to post their original posts... until they do feel comfortable about "where" to post "this." This way we know to go there to welcome the newbies, and the mods can move the posts as needed (thus helping to teach which forums we have and where to put the posts&gt Not necessarily for them to stay there and habitate, but where they are helped out into the rest of the site.

These all would help with the Mental HEALTH aspect of the site, yep.

Hey September ...while you're at it, maybe you could get DocJohn to change the title of the "Question of the Week" forum??? I knew better than to look forward to something.

My turn to A Poll There will always be people that are in too much of a hurry, too much of a rough day or just plain lazy that they won't search out the proper forum before they post. IMO, it's a lost cause to try to divide General.

My thoughts were that IF anyone WANTED to work on their self-esteem, they would most probably post in that forum. There are a few here that are a bit further ahead than some on that particular road. Those can help the others or produce articles, etc that could help.

Me? I simply don't give a damn what others think. LOL All I want is to be more comfortable in my own skin. You know, to like who and what I am. A Poll

I don't feel comfortable in voting "yes" or "no", only because I've seen some forums/threads get pretty heated, even turn ugly A Poll
I'm not saying your idea is bad at all, I just fear certain people may not be able to handle feedback that will be meant to be constructive, they may take some of the feedback as criticism, you understand I am sure, for most people such a forum has a good potential, but unfortunately things said over the internet have a greater chance of being misunderstood.
Like I said, I do not think it is a bad idea, it's just that I am a little leerie.
I just don't know. . .
Thanks for listening.

BTW
The kudos forum can be used for boosting self-esteem for anybody, another person or even one's self A Poll

I understand what you're saying, but self-esteem is about loving SELF. If you love yourself first, then it's easier to love others. There's many of us that have no problem doing what is right for others, friends included, but we fail to do the right thing for ourselves and fail to be kind to ourselves.
