Ya'll ever fly in a plane lately. But buy your tickets online.

I'm having a problem here. I keep being told i need to get something called an e-ticket. But i can't get it until less than 24 hours before the flight. Its less than 24 hours. What i can find is this thing that says check-in. I went there and put in the flight number like it asked. But it has me going to Ohio when i'm suppose to be going to Illnois. On the confirmation i got when i bought the tickets online it is correct. New Orlean to Peoria, with a layover in Atlanta.

Oh wait the check in thing says it is an iteneary. It has the flight and gate numbers. but no gate numbers for departure out of atlanta. But that departure is to Ohio. arrrghh

there are two flight numbers on the confirmation. am i suppose to enter both. print both, then take to someplace called a ski-cap. What if it still says to Ohio? Will the iteneary work as the e-ticket?

I woke up this morning saying i'm not gonna stress out on anything. But i'm starting too. I'm already scared as hell i'm going to get so lost at the Atlanta airport i'm going to miss the connectig flight. And someone tells me i have to get on some tram there. Thats the only way to get to the next plane.

I just dont want to be at the airports. I want to be safely in the air in the plane.

OKay! I've done this and it really is great once you figure it out.

Go back to the airline site where you purchased your ticket online. You've been there I guess, since you were told you can't print it until less than 24 hours before the flight.

Don't fret if you can't get it to print, because it merely saves you time at the check in.. .but you can still check in the usual long way wait at the airport if you don't have it.

You probably have some confirmation code for the flight... or some airline code they gave you so only you can access the ticket. On the airline site is the place to type that in... and it should come up in a window where you print the "e ticket" and carry it with you to the airport..it IS your ticket.

Let me know if you have issues...and I'll go to the website to try and see what you see... I'll check back later here to see if you need more help. If you send me a PM, I'll get it in email also...

Breathe...you can do this..and it's great!

It's called CHECK IN ONLINE... put in your confirmation number, first and last name? (Is that all they ask for?)

I have to think about the "itinerary" vs e ticket... thinking..... .... .... you're talking about a boarding pass... an "e ticket" right?

Hey Sky. Flying out of here to Peoria on Delta i found the itenerary and boarding pass and printed both of those. couldnt find the e-ticket thing. The itenerary does have gate numbers.

On the flight back here from Peoria. I found the e-ticket and boarding pass and printed those. But with this airline, United, it did not give any gate numbers for any arrivals or departures. The layover i have in Chicago on this flight is just over an hour. And i will have my nephew with me. So i think i'll pretty much be ok for the most part.

I'm still stressing over this. I havent flown since the mid 90's. And it was nothing like this.

Don't stress...THEY know what they are doing. Different airlines call them different things and require different at gate. But then, we really don't want the government regulating everything do we?

Have a great flight!
Skipping the check in line is worth all this!

Sky, I made it. 13 1/2 hours flying it ended up being. I got a few bumps and bruises, but nothing to call home about. When i left here and got to Atlanta i found the gate i had to go to. I got off the plane at concourse B and had to go just to the next one at C. But i had a little trouble riding that underground subway there. I wasnt fast enough getting on the subway and got stuck between the doors closing. They opened right up and i jumped in. Then this thing took off so fast i went flying back and landed on the floor. As soon as i got up it stopped and i went flying forward. I couldnt get up fast enough to get off, so i had to go all the way around. But i learned fast after that to hold on tight. I found the gate i had to be at pretty fast. I took off from Atlanta and went to Peoria to get my nephew. My brother and sister in law as of tomorrow had a beer with me then they had to go. They had to get to some other airport cause they had their flight leaving around 9pm. Tres and i went to check in his luggage bag and we were told our flight was cancelled. The guy said it was reschuled for 2:55 the next day. I told him it cant be cancelle we have a flight in chicago to get back home. He kept saying there was nothing he could do. And my anger started to show its ugly face. A guy from American airline heard the commotion and came over. I told him what i was being told and said we aren't sleeping in the airport tonite. I've dont that before it isnt fun. Well the guy with American got us on his flight to Chicago and didnt charge us anything different than what the ticket we had cost. But we had 10 minutes to get to the gate. We ran to security. Tres got through no problem. They gave me a hard time cause i had my meds in the day carrier thing i keep them in and not the original bottles. Finally, he let us pass through and we ran so fast. Wehn we got to the gate they were just closing the door, but they still let us on. We got to Chicago and had to walk a mile to the gate we had to be at. Well at Chicago they have these flat escalators you can get on and go a little faster. And of course walking fast and moving on that when it got to the end i lost my feet from under me falling forward and fell face down to the ground. I didnt expect that thing to throw me like that. But i had my nephew there to laugh his butt off at me. I got up, got to the gate, got on the plane and made it home at 11:45pm. I wanted to kiss the ground when i walked out that airport.

Whew! what a trip! Good to hear things finally worked.

Oh I really avoid Atlanta when I can! You were fortunate that the concourse was next one... but generally I think you can walk 2 miles sometimes!

I didn't realize Chicago a/p was similar?

Yes on those trams/skyways! The one at ORLANDO is that way... I use a motorized wheelchair, with service dog when I travel (fly) and the very first time I was sitting backwards and nearly dumped out!

Now, even when I have assistance from airport and they insist I can face "any" way.. I make it a point to maneuver --even if it's inconvenient for others-- to face the front direction heading... oh well.

Hope your return trip is uneventful. Enjoy your stay!

I left new orleans around 7 in the morning and got back at 11:45pm. Just one big circle i went in. Got my nephew halfway way through. I would have stayed the night in peoria, ill. But my brother and sister in law left on a flight last night to Jamica to get married. It we did get stuck at that airport last night, there was no way to get to a hotel or even their house for the night. they live a good 30 minutes out in the country from the airport and i left my bankcard at home accidentally.
