It takes longer than 2 weeks if your levels were low. Nothing magical is going to happen. If you had any symptoms you will just slowly get better over time. Hang in there. Vitamin D is really important.

My doc recommended 2000 I.U. once daily and still took about 2 months.
Try to stick it out, it helps a lot of things.
Hope you feel better soon.

I am on 10,000 units a week (my vitamin D level was at a 3-4) and I am still waiting for an improvement. I feel better in some ways (not so tired all the time) and my joints ache but not as horrible as it was before hand. Definitely give it time.

Don't od on vitamin D, it's not water soluble. It stays in you.

I get my vitamins through my doctor, so I think I am okay. My levels are up to a 26 now.

It could be the soy that's in most of them that made you feel worse. Also I think just because researchers found that Vitamin D levels were low in people with mental disorders like depression doesn't mean low Vitamin D causes depression. Its just correlation, the reason people with mental disorders have lower levels of vitamin D is because we don't go outside that much. Vitamin D is important, but I highly doubt its going to "cure" any mental disorder. Then again, neither do psychiatric medicines... Bottom line, if you have a psychiatric disorder, see a therapist, if its life threatening see a psychiatrist, you should get the relief you need, if not its possible your "mental disorder" is caused by a physiological condition, not a psychological one.
