I Was wondering if anyone here has tried st. johns wart for their depression, anxiety or panic attacks. If so would you recommend it and how does it effect you or help you. I have heard many say they had no side effects to the herbal substance and they seen major improvement within 6 weeks.

I didnt personally notice an improvement but I didnt on chemical meds either for a while. I still believe this works for mild depression or anxiety. My partner will be starting it soon, I feel it will make a difference for him.

Be careful when taking St. John's Wort. It acts as a combination of an SSRI and an MAOI and you will generally need to follow the MAOI diet to avoid potential heath problems like increased blood pressure.

I notice that this thread is a few days old, but because of the potential for danger I wanted to add that if there is a potential for underlying issues with Bipolar, St. Johns Wort can trigger mania. It happened to me, and it was just as strong a reaction as I have experienced with prescribed SSRI's sans mood stabilizer.

Rocketship!
Thanks for this!
