Saying they would be helpful for you or not is a little like recommending a specific medication. I am not comfortable with that because if you read enough of these forums you find people are very individual. 5-HTP can be bad for bipolar because it can send you into a manic state. Completely complicated if you are already taking something else. I don't know much about b-12 but it is generally better to get vitamins from food for a whole bunch of reasons. The first two I would think of like medicines and talk to somebody about it.

Those might be a bit to dangerous. I am no expert though. I take fish oil and vitamin D.

I had a pdoc give me L methyl folate (deplin) it is prescription only and you can't take b vitamins with it. There is research on it. Also I take melotonin.

I would say do a lot of research before you take anything. Your case is complicated.

You may not want to increase seratonin.

Anybody heard of these? Pics includedLithium Orotate 120mg

I take 2 each day. I notice that I feel more in touch with my emotions with these. More human? Either way I took them to get away from feeling like a robot as I had been some years back and still continue to take them.

Now if you say you went off of Zoloft because you think it may have caused psychosis then I would definitely not take 5 HTP. It increases seratonin and so does Zoloft. I don't know what the B12 will do. Probably not much.

5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), also known as oxitriptan (INN), is a naturally occurring amino acid and chemical precursor as well as a metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin from tryptophan.
Lithium may help as it is prescribed for BP and also as an augmenter for depression. I think I would let a pdoc put me on lithium though if they thought it was the right thing to do.

I can give you a list of all the things pdocs have told me to take as supplements for depression but I don't think that would be helpful because you may be BP and have a history of psychosis so they might make things worse. They are basically all meant to increase seratonin.

Some people use Lithium orotate as a milder alternative to prescription only Lithium medication. However, there's a lack of scientific evidence and consensus regarding the efficacy of Lithium orotate. I know that some people have adverse reactions to lithium. The ion of the metal can have problematic impacts on the body, so lithium use should be carefully monitored by a physician. I would not suggest using it without talking to a doctor or psychiatrist first.
