What kind of discharge criteria is this?

I was recent inpatient, crying about not wanting to be alive, and they said they think I was there too long and sent me home the next day. They wanted to send me home THAT day but I asked for a day to at least pack and do paperwork

Wow! That's horrible! You honestly told them how you feel (unsafe) and they send you home? .I hope they at least set up some outpatient treatment for you.

Well, thing is they wouldn’t because they straight up lied in the discharge summary and put “patient denied SI/HI upon discharge” in there which is complete bs. I fking ENDORSED suicidal ideation, but whatever they say…

If it happens again, do not sign the paperwork. If you endorsed and they wrote you denied, that is a lie.

We don’t sign paperwork to leave though.

I do not remember my discharge paperwork. It has been over 7 years. I have also been on both locked and open units in the past and do not remember the differences in discharge paperwork, if there were any.

Yeah, they print out a packet of lab work, what meds you should take, your main diagnosis (not even all of them, you have to download and look at MyChart for that), your aftercare safety plan, go over it with you, make you take a survey asking how clean your room was and if the doc explained side effects (they never do), and then let you out the door.

You only sign when you leave AMA now that I think about it.

Right. My then his and took me AMA after the first suicide attempt and one of us signed, but I do not remember who did.
