^^How cute.

Reminds me of a woman who told about her dog having puppies. This was before much awareness had been raised about spaying and neutering. Back then, dogs bred indiscriminately. She didn't know what dog had fathered the puppies. But the neighbors thought they knew. The doorbell rang, and there on the front porch was the neighbor's male dog, with a basket around his neck. The basket was full of puppy biscuits, and a sign on the front of it read, "Child Support."

I saw an alternative caption for the last picture I posted I thought was funny, too. It said, "Sorry I can't e-mail you today. Something has crashed on my computer!"

Payne: my mom had a cat that would get his head stuck in coffee cups trying to get the last of the coffee out. It was funny to watch

I didn't know cats really like coffee--or is it more the cream and/or sugar that attracts them?

Do animals really like getting dressed up? Their owners certainly come up with amazing costumes. Years ago, when I was in grade school, I tried to dress my cat Donald (named after a boy I liked in third grade) in baby clothes. He was not happy. First he pooped on them, and then he ran up a post!

I don't know what Simba liked about the coffee. He was a silly cat!

Our dog dislikes very much being dressed up. However, if its his girls (our twin 10 yr olds) he'll put up with it, to a point! Last year they put a dress on him and tried to get him to wear ballett shoes. He would have nothing to do with the shoes and was trying to eat the dress! We took a family photo awhile back, the girls made Turbo wear a tie! That poor dog.

A few years ago when I had a dachshund, I wanted to do a Halloween costume where I was a prescription bottle and he was a Prozac capsule, but I never got the chance.

I was thinking about what Payne said about dressing up the dogs, depends on the dog and what it is their being put in. Because of how cold it gets here I will put a light coat on mine when it gets below freezing to go out for her runs, as her coat is so thin but whether she likes it, not at first, it took getting used to for her. Now she zooms right into it!

The only time I've dressed up a dog otherwise was for Halloween and with my very chocolate lab many years ago. I was working part-time for a screen printer and we enlarged a Hershey bar wrapper to fit the length of his body, and I found stuffed Hershey kisses for a collar and to hang off the edges like fringe. It was a simple costume and he did well since I did not put anything on his head, but at first, he kept trying to play with the kisses, finally gave up, then went back to his normal, bouncy gate. We won a costume contest for most original. But more important, it was so much fun as my other job was working at a hospital, and we were asked to come visit the pediatric unit for Halloween. He had his Canine Good Citizen certification at this point and oh, I wish you could have have seen how the kids just lit up at seeing him, petting, hugging, and talking with him as a Hershey Bar. They were in stitches. He loved the attention as well, tail wagging. It truly was my best Halloween, most delightful, sweet, and fun!
