I have found out that Zeke likes people food and not normal people food. Today I was eating some tortilla chips just plain one's not doritos and the bag was on the floor and he stuck his head in the bag and promptly went to town. I let him pull two chips out and then put the bag up on my lap. So my cat likes chips. He also likes my gluten free cookies, my gluten free crackers and normal kitty food. He likes cheese but only sometimes. I was eating some today and offered it to him and he looked at me like you expect me to eat that I only eat tortilla chips LOL. He wouldn't eat the cheese any of the times I offered it to him. He did eat his 2 tortilla chips though. First he licked off all the salt and then ate the chip.

My mom's cat Mollye eats plastic. That is highly discouraged but she tries anyway. Mollye is allowed to sit in her basket on the counter and only the basket but she tries to explore and she gets told get in your basket and she hangs her head and returns but sometimes has to be told several times. If she gets told several times she gets picked up and put on the floor. She hates that so she generally returns and then demands to be petted as a reward for returning to her basket.

So what strange things does your pet eat?

Jan

My lab Al uh, "cleans" the cats' litter box.

We used to have a horse that loved Murray's butter cookies and only Murray's butter cookies. I once made him homemade butter cookies. He wouldn't eat them.

A couple of the horses I have now like watermelon rind.
Thanks for this!

The cat I'm taking care of ate half her Christmas present. It had a container of catnip with it. I keep meaning to look up if catnip is poisonous to cats or not. Anyway, she threw it upon the carpet later, then proceeded today a bunch of pine needles and threw them up too. Of course never on the tile floor, only on my light coloured carpet. Sheesh!

Little Amy loves cheese. I always grate my cheese and she's in the kitchen the moment the cheese grater comes out the cupboard. The big dogs have eaten fruit, including banana before.

I forgot that Zeke ate part of a dried apple slice. I had a bag of dried apple slices with gingerbread seasonings on them and he licked the seasoning off and then ate the apple. So now anytime I open a bag that sounds like apple bag he comes running.

I have a long haired cat who will eat her own hairballs off the carpet from time to time. AUGH! It's so annoying! I've already had her in for surgery for a bowel obstruction (hairball) once. It's like she has her own version of pica or something--she's obsessed. Even when I shoo her away, she has to finish what she's eating before she runs, and she's right back at it in a few minutes.

they must like urine. my dog licks the throw rug in the boys bathroom. and I if am not constantly scanning ahead when we are at the park, she eats whatever she finds. since she has been known to eat cat t*&ds, I am really reluctant to remove it from her mouth once she finds it. on the plus side she likes carrots and green beans.....

Horse people will not think this strange, but non-horse people are grossed out by it. The dogs absolutely LOVE the trimmings from the horses' feet when the farrier visits.

Last year I had a kitten that would only eat people food or nurse from her mama. Unfortunately she ran under my car when she was three months old and died. I had never seen a kitten nurse that long. She loved McD biscuits with eggs and cheese. She would not eat dry kitten food or even wet in the can. Still miss that kitten...

I wonder if I can get my cat to eat tic tics or breath mints. She eats a really powerful fish food--and only will eat that. Her tuna breath almost takes my breath away!

My mom's dog Agapé will literally eat anything. Every morning we have to go scout the backyard for sticks because she will eat them until she gets sick. She digs up dirt so she can eat it. ANYTHING that grows or falls out of a tree she's on it. You can't turn your back for a second. I can't find anything she doesn't like the taste of. I've tried spritzing things with Bitter Apple, vinegar, all types of pepper sprays etc... She loves it all And in the house we have not discovered a food we eat that she won't eat. Never in my 35 years have I met a dog like this.

My horse likes watermelon and rind. Actually I like the rind too. It is delicious when it is pickled.

My dog Bella will eat almost any food except she hates the smell of garlic, fresh ginger root and onions. I've done several threads on her eating escapades, like a plum pit, papers from muffins(twice), a few chocolate kisses with the colored aluminum foil, plastic beads, a whole banana peel, a package of gum and I mean the whole thing - it cost me $130 emergency vet bill. She recently did the same thing with gum, but we luckily treated her at home with the advice of our vet who lives next door. She has also eaten other dogs pooh which completely grosses me out. Otherwise she's a well trained dog - this is her only weakness. She's on a medicated vet kibble because she's prone to bladder stones.

My older cat Chloe, 9 years old, absolutely loves Red Vines. She'll chew through a plastic bag and then through the plastic outer wrap so she can pull them out and munch on them! She also ate not 1, but 2, pennies a few years ago! Cost a small fortune to get them taken out. I held on to them... figured they were the most expensive pennies I was ever going to find!

My new kitten, she's about 8 months old now, seems to love the taste of diet Dr. Pepper. She licks the lip of the can whenever I'm not paying attention. If I leave one unattended she knocks it down off the table and I come back to the room to find her lapping up the puddle on the carpet. It's driving me nuts!
Thanks for this!
