no mouse traps in my house! had a rabbit eat the wiring a few years ago - didn't hurt it but electricuted me (not badly) when i investigated the wire, so all wires are encased in metal tubing not big enough for gerbils to get through!

my home is pretty much gerbil proof, i even chase blow flies out whenever i see any!

My dog Sasha to great me like I've been gone a year.
Jump on my lap when I sit in my recliner, she's 53 pounds.
Try to get in my bed every chance she can.
Sleep in with me every Sat.

Love me unconditionally and lick my tears when I cry.

I can always count on finding him knocking over the hamper to lie on the dirty clothes when hes cold too.
Tamster, at least he sleeps on dirty clothes. My crew prefers clean laundry!

Make it really hard to change the bed linens...he loves to get under each layer and walk around and then sit down right in the middle

Rose, my crew likes to do that too. I just go ahead and keep making the bed. I figure they can find their way out.

Liveforfish, I have a 100 pound Rottie who thinks he is a lapdog too! Somewhere I have a picture of a Great Dane sitting in a person's lap. The caption says "inside every large dog is a lap dog waiting to get out." I love it!

I'm excited! I am picking up a new dog today and I am hoping he provides love, cuddles, structure to my schedule, and companionship for a long time. It took a long time to make the choice to get a dog but his current owner cant keep him and I need a sweet lil pup in my life.

You new pup will definitely provide some structure to your day. One thing I've noticed about dogs is that they can help you get out of your head and into the moment. Enjoy!

I can always count on my dog to:

-snore louder than any human when in a deep sleep.
-wke me up in the middle of the night to go outside.
-wiggle & wag her tail when she sees me.
-stick her whole head in the bowl of water to get a drink, leaving a mess.

I LOVE her!

HaHa!

I can always count on my dog to:

1. Be more accurate than my alarm clock, even on weekends
2. Force me to go outside even when I don't want to
3. Always be there to greet me at the door.

I can always count on my kitties to:

Be near me (or cuddling with me) wherever I am in the house.
Be right at the door when I come home.
Love me unconditionally.

I can count on my little maltese, Scooter, to greet me at the door when I get home for some petting. My husband says when I'm late Scooter runs to the door everytime he hears something. He always makes me smile and these days smiles are hard to come by with my mood.

Buddy, my cockatiel will tell me thank you after I fill her feeding dish. She will do this while bowing to me. She started doing this when she saw how much I checked on how much she ate.(She is very lean, a fussy eater, and not eating enough to put on more body weight.)

I'll start.

I can always count on my dog to provide some semblance of structure to my day. Like all dogs with a home, she depends on me for feeding (2 x's daily), a walk (2 X's daily), and I must sweep or vacuum the floor in order to keep the place clean. On days where I feel adrift and not really motivated this is actually a big help.

Next person.....
I can always count on my cat to meet me in the yard when I come home and run up to me and greet me. She rolls on her back and wants me to pet her and rub her tummy.

I can always count on my cats to keep my seat warm.
I can always count on the kittens running up behind me anytime I open the fridge.
I can always count on Dalmah letting me snuggle him.
I can count on my cats to make sure my food tastes good before I eat any lol.
I can always count on Abby understanding me, and usually likewise.

I can always count on my cats to purr for me, which I thoroughly love and enjoy. I can sit outside in the barn with them on my lap for over an hour, just listening to them purr - it's so relaxing!

My two four-month old kittens have started new 'trends', don't know how long they will last. I live on a farm, so when I am walking around the farm, they meow super loud when they lose sight of me! One day, I was planting some flowers around the house and kept going inside to get things, like a tape measure, a Kleenex, drink of water, and to look at my 'planning sheet'. I swear to goodness, one of the kittens sat at the door and meowed every time I went inside! And he has never done that before! (he meowed like every ten seconds until I came back out) And they think it is a game when I dig holes to put my flowers in. Do you know how difficult it is to dig a hole when two kittens keep jumping in it, knocking all the dirt back down in the hole?!

My two kittens and one of my big cats have started this new trend, they sit at the back door and wait for me to come out. This is after I go inside to have my supper and relax a bit.

Above all else, I can always count on my cats to love me unconditionally, never judge me, show their support of me with their attention and constant purring, and be my family when I don't have a real one!!!

Below is a photo of my two kittens, Austin and Rusty. Enjoy.

I have an older cat, over ten years old. I can always depend on her to be happy to see me when I come home. No matter how I feel, good or bad, I see how glad she is to see me and it causes me to have to come out of myself and experience the love she has for me. It also gives me a sense of purpose to feed and care for her.

I can always count on my dog Zelda to make me smile with her pit bull grin. Whenever I see it I can't help but smile back.
I can always count on my cockatiel Zipper to talk to me, even if it is just whistling and clicking sounds.
I can always count on our three outdoor cats Uno, Dous, (they're from the same litter) and Barbie, to come sprinting up to me nearly ever time I go outside.
