For those of you who were following the story of my friend's cat, Ciara, she crossed the rainbow bridge Monday. She seemed to rally a bit over the weekend, then rapidly slid downhill. My friend decided the kindest thing to do was to end her suffering.

Ciara was a special kitty. My friend knows she did the right thing, but still is hurting a lot. Could you please continue to keep her in your thoughts? Matter of fact, I could use some positive thoughts myself. Ciara's death has ripped the scab off the sore of all the furbabies I've lost. Not feeling so great myself.

Thanks to everyone for their support during this long battle. I am convinced it helped Ciara and my friend.

The vet at the uni vet hospital called with the results of Ciara's autopsy. She had fibrous tissue growing around most of her internal organs, choking them off. He said this is very rare in cats. The last case they saw was in 1994. Bottom line is that there was no hope for her. Knowing the cause doesn't ease the pain, but at least my friend knows that there was nothing more to do for her. The hospital is running further tests to determine what caused the tissue to begin growing in the first place.

Y'all are in my thoughts. It does tear through us with their loss and we yet we also have the cherished adventures when they were with us to remember their lovely spirits. Sending peaceful wishes Ciara and y'all's way.

Oh Liz,

I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose a beloved pet. Perhaps you and your friend can take some consolation in the knowledge that you did absolutely everything you could for her.

My thoughts are with you and your friend.

My friend and I are trying to make plans to get together toward the end of next week. I have about eleven zillion pics of her kitties on my phone that she has texted me. I printed out her favorites and am framing them. I'll give them to her when we see each other.
