Cats are far more social than most people realize, and shape their behavior both in relation to other cats in the home or in the neighborhood and in relation to the behavior of their humans. Lack of attention to the social and emotional needs of cats may contribute to poor welfare.

I've found that cats do need attention. They're not exactly the loners people sometimes think. In the wild they usually have other cats around for playing with and even grooming. Somewhere I read that they see humans as other cats. Sometimes I serve as a playmate to my cat and sometimes as his mother!

My cat picked a fight with my mother last night, it was a clue that he wanted some attention. Got out the mice and started throwing them around so he could case em. Did the feather dancer for a bit too and he got his frustration out and calmed down. Sometimes he like a two year old, mom, mom, mom, mom....what, nothing, mom, mom, mom, mom, what, nothing.
