|
My cat has brought in all sorts of critters--including a baby mole and two baby snakes. I tried to get her to pick up the mole in her mouth and take it out. It was in my closet, using my shoes as a maze. But the cat would only reach out with one paw and pat it a bit. Sigh.

I gathered some fur on its back and picked it up that way, gave it to hubby, and he took it outside. I've also taken out baby birds. Hubby gets to do critters like snakes. Oh, and I did take a little lizard outside one time.

The most distressing one was a baby ring tailed possum brought into my bedroom and placed under my rocker chair. It didnt last long as it died soon after.  I was so stressed by all of the carnage that Cuddles brought in I even thought about getting him euthanized.  I have to think that he was part feral. Before I had the time to take action Cuddles went missing and I never saw him again. Maybe he tried to tackle something that was bigger than him. It's one of life's unanswered questions.
