I'm pretty large from the years of food addiction compulsive binge eating. I have a new case worker thats kind of like a life coach. I got him to deal with other issues, but all hee wants to focus on is weight loss, he thinks like so many that if i lose the weight the majic wand is ae and all my problems are goe. I've explained to him food is the dug i use to comfort my problems not the otherwayaround.,, it's so frustrating. but not like he's the only one. i get this all the time.

Weight loss in general is not a good goal to focus on. Send him to read The Fat Nutritionist (I have learned about her from this site) - it would be eye opening for him. It will make him a better professional, so seriously, make him read it.

Hi widowlost,
Sorry to hear about your new case worker/life coach. Be upfront and honest with him and tell him that concentrating on weight loss will not help you in the long run. You are the expert in knowing what you have tried and worked on before and tell him that this way of going about counseling will not work for you. Quote:
