I've been having troubles for the last six months trying to lose weight But When I get mad or upset or sad or get ignored by someone I love. I eat no matter if I just ate not to long ago. Does anyone have any advice on how to try to turn my mind from food to doing something else.

I'm in the same place. I find when I exercise, daily, even a 20-30 minute walk, it helps to decrease my appetite. Walking with a friend, for me, is ideal. There are lots of fun walking groups available. *big warm friendship hug* That's just me. By the way, I have to walk, I have dogs that look at me strangely if I don't.

Hi
Try and stock up on fruit and veg. If you can't resist going to the fridge at least make it a healthy option ...try chewing on a celery stick or munch on an apple! Easier said than done I know ![]()

What I suggested is really only for the short term, but for long term you need to figure out when and why you overeat....if you are an emotional eater then maybe CBT would help.

Looking for safety, protection, being cherished and loved can often be normal unmet needs in childhood, and the survivor searches for these in other adults. This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors. |
