Does anyone who struggles with binge eating see food and automatically "think" you are hungry? Your stomach is not hungry but your mind is starving. Am I alone in this behavior? It's like the stomach and the mind are disconnected. I hate this confusion.

I experienced this constant hunger before. For me it was dealing with feelings, try to keep them down with food. Funny after I dealt with those feelings, bingeing lost its appeal.

Also eating higher protein foods and less carbs caused less overeating.

Yes, I struggle with it
I have times, when I am in bed, and will think about the cookies (buns, etc, etc) in the kitchen and cannot sleep until I eat them
I am not hungry, but my brain says "go get it"

Yea, it's like the minute your brain thinks of something; you can't let it rest until the problem is dealt with (food).

It really is.
The hard part is quietly sneaking out of bed and sneaking down the stairs while bf is sleeping

I do this too. I get up in the middle of the night and go eat.

I have caught so many times and I get berated
"why can't you control this?"
"don't you have willpower?'

That's what my psychiatrist does too. I mean logically everyone has will power. Accept when one struggles with an addiction; the addiction takes over.
