I feel like I will never find someone because of my weight problem. I know I am constantly judged by my peers. When I look for a guy, I do not judge on weight because I know how difficult it is. I just don't want to be alone...

Hello FaithHopeLove: You don't mention how old you are. Having once been a young man myself, I think that most young men probably overemphasize physical attractiveness. As we get a few more years under our belts, I think our fixation on physical beauty tends to diminish. It dawns on us, after a while, that there's more to a person than how they look. So please try not to feel too discouraged. I certainly do understand your desire not to be alone. However, while you're waiting for that right guy to come along, hopefully you can focus your attention & energy on achieving what you would like to achieve yourself. Self-confidence & success can be attractive traits as well. And these are things you can, to a large extent, control. Meeting the right guy is pretty-much just something you have to wait & hope for. At least this is my perspective. My best wishes to you...

I sure would like to shed about 50 lbs. It's more about being healthier. I am 57, female and the mom of two college-age girls. Life's a whirlwind right now and I'm enjoying my time with them.
I would like to think there is a special somebody out there. I know, for me as I age, it's about intellect, humor, outlook on life, etc., and sure, physical attraction is good, but there's so much more... |
