i do this too.... i do it because i'm a binge eater.

i'm not saying you are- their could be another underlying reason for you

but i have an overeating problem and can't help it.

Are you on an anti-psychotic medication? Seroquel made me want to eat the furniture. I gained 70 kg and haven't lost it, despite coming off Seroquel.

Aside from medication as the cause, for me it is compounded by my poor eating habits. I eat large amounts. I have to feel full. It's an emotional need, not a physical one. I have worked out where it may have come from on a surface level in therapy, but I'm no closer to having lasting control over my eating habits.

I hope you find a solution that works for you. Habit change is hard.

Could it be some sort of vitamin or mineral deficiency? I work with animals and most of the time when they crib or eat weird things, it stops once I give them a mineral lick or supplement.

Try to replace bad food with fruits and vegetables. Meditation can also help you control your anxiety. Search for one in youtube.

It reminds me of looking for love . It is so temporary. Hard to hide all the feelings that go into it. One of the best books I have read was called " Gentle Eating".

I'm the same. I know that realistically I only need to eat a small amount just to stop feeling hungry but I can't stop myself. I get to the point where I feel sick I've eaten that much and know there is no need for me to do this. But I do. I'm not as bad as I used to be I try and be conscious of what I'm doing, but I have odd days where I can't control myself.
