I can't stop binging. No matter how much weight I gain or how bad it makes me feel after. It is the only thing that makes me happy for that brief period of time. It takes my mind off of the horrible past and my sad present. Food is there when I am lonely. It is there when I am stressed. It makes me feel not so empty inside.

It is my new drug. I kicked a drug habit years ago and had no idea that I could become addicted to food. In my opinion, food addiction can be harder to kick than drug addiction, at least in my case.

I hope being on the forum helps you.

this is a great place to start, as their are lot of people (including me) who overeat.

their's a check-in thread here as well, if you ever feel like posting how you are doing (but starting your own threads is okay too!)
Thanks for this!

I can relate to what you are saying. I eat and eat and feel like I have no control. I know it won't help me long term and it only makes my poor health worse but the immediate release seems to over ride my rational thinking. I'm so embarrassed about my behavior. I feel so overwhelmed. I am currently trying to stop cutting and if I go a while without cutting my eating gets way worse. I know it's hard for me to talk about so I've only told my therapist once. I hope you are doing ok.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
