Every time I try to lose weight I just get more depressed. Eating makes me so happy, probably happier than most other things. I hate my size and I want to be skinny but when I eat less than usual I get upset and very angry. I have trouble falling asleep because I can feel all of my back fat when I lay on my side. Ugh, why can't I just eat like a normal person?

You are not alone. What I don't understand is how other people can eat a small portion of something and be done, and just go on to doing something else. Or how they can have something really delicious atound the house and never touch it!

I know right? Once I have a certain food on my mind I can't shake the thought.

welcome to PC

this is a good site to get support, and a lot of us can relate to stuff like this

I know for me, i've had to throw out half my clothes because of the weight (and now I barely have much)

EAting makes me happy too. Probably more than anything else in my life. I'm ashamed to admit that bc I have a wife who I'm happy with and a dog, a good job... I'm feeling ashamed right now bc I went to a fast food place for lunch by myself when my wife and mother in law went shopping. I stayed home knowing that is what my plan wAs going to be. If I have anything at home that slightly interests me I will eAt all of it! I have. O self control. My whole life all I wanted was to be skinny and to be liked. I don't know where to start. I have a therapist but I don't know if she has a lot of experience with binge eTing disorder? She does talk to me about her own eating/food addiction..... I feel very alone and just wanted to tell you that you aren't alone!

Eating makes me happy as well. I think it's about finding a balance (which I still haven't found). I tried for a long time to be healthier and lose weight, but it didn't work, and worrying about my weight just made me hate myself more. I decided I would rather be happy than healthy. But now I'm thinking that long-term happiness is easier when you're healthy. I personally want to find a way to be both happy and healthy. It might help you if you want to be healthier or lose weight (those aren't necessarily the same), as I think you do given your original post, to try to implement some things that will make you healthier without taking away any of the food that you enjoy. Don't even try smaller portion sizes or anything, just add something like walking 30 minutes a day or drinking more water. Baby steps to a healthier life.

What I can't understand is those people who say "I was so busy I forgot to eat".
Really???? What's with that???
Forget?
To eat??????
