any one have this personality? i try to research it today and i find that i can relate to it. there is not a place here like other "personaity disorders." I dont find it a bother but I am very neat and need things in there place. Mess frustrates me. but main thing is my perfectionism. which I think all is related. my question is that can these personality disorders have any thing to do with how we are raised? My dad is very neat and clean about things, also a big perfectionist. so that is all i no when grow up. Or are these more about related to the brain? anyone have comments? something Im just curious about.

This sounds a lot like obsessive compulsive disorder, which isn't in the personality disorders. It is found in the OCD and Trichotillomania forums (which is literally the link right above the personality place link)

If this isn't what you are looking for then I'm sorry for wasting your time >.<

OCPD... My father has that. Like with the not throwing things away, always wanting us to be perfect. He gets so embarrassed he won't even use change to pay for anything. He even said "**** you" to my face once when I made a joke in Walmart.

I'm still in the air on whether I have this personality disorder...yes, perfectionism is a characteristic of Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. This is not to be confused with OCD which may have some overlapping features, but are entirely different disorders. There is some research to suggest that OCPD had a genetic predisposition, but environmental factors probably play a significant role. Most sufferers of OCPD came from authoritarian homes where strict rules were enforced with few rewards. Suffers also reported that one or both parents were cold and emotionally unavailable.

My parents were authoritarian and emotionally unavailable. My mother was an undiagnosed NPD/HPD/OCPD. My father is a DPD.
