hi, I'm new to this forum. I was slightly overwhelmed with the choices of rooms I could put myself here. I'm a bit off all of them I suppose, but after the 2 day wrestle with which one I should enter, I decided here was ok.

A bit about myself? well I'm currently into my 3 rd yr of therapy after being forwarded from a treatment centre with the dx of attachment disorder, after originally being dx with BPD, and now my T says lets forget the labels, so I am now offically mad but with no name I guess I live here?...

I suffer with eratic moods and flashbacks and anger and severe immaturity LOL at the age off 44. I can sometimes swing from being very sorted, to being very needy...

I struggle with people, though I am happliy married and a mother off 3 children, I still tend to isolate and find I have to make a consious effort to socialise.

Well thats about me, but that could change by tomorrow.

Hi, Trace, welcome to PC (short for Psych Central).

At the ripe old age of 56 I've decided "immaturity" has nothing whatsoever to do with being a teenager and age and is nothing to be ashamed of. It's about making the best choices with the background we have and some choices don't work very well but hey, we've lived to this ripe old age/"survived" and that's something!

I just rewatched "Cast Away" http://www.amazon.com/Cast-Away-Wide...id=1160238193/ with Tom Hanks last night on the telly and was fascinated with his relationship while on the island 4 years alone with "Wilson" the volleyball he made into a "person." Very "immature" behavior but very necessary and it worked. Wilson did help him, even disappeared when it was time for him to be rescued so he could get back to "normal."

I'm glad you're struggling, are making the consciouis effort and working hard to get better. It will happen!

Welcome again! No, the mind doesn't "know" age.. I guess I live here? I took your BPD as borderline personality disorder (thus the forum.) Which is correct, imo. (Others use BPD for BD (bipolar disorder.)

You can live here as long as you like! DocJohn doesn't charge any of us rent! I guess I live here?

Hi Trace and Welcome!

This place is quite big and can be overwhelming-- and I've been here almost two years!!-- I guess I live here?
You can post and be anywhere you want to be in PC (Psych Central)-- it's nice there are so many areas to go to.

Good for you, working on making your life better by being in therapy. My T. (therapist) doesn't like to use labels and will only tell me them if I out-right ask him. I have attachment problems too-- amongst a few other things.

Me too, I guess I live here? it can cause much anxiety---When I isolate too much, I feel bad about that--- but then the anxiety escalates even more when I push myself to socialize. I guess I live here?

Anyway, nice to meet you.
There are many kind and supportive people here, hope you find that this place is a great place to be. I guess I live here?
