I just was accused of being npd? By my partner and a those who know me. I have read some stuff I can sorta see the similarity I guess not really in a bad way. But I can't really see what's the different with that and AsPD? My dad was diagnosed with AsPD. My mom has AvPD which she is working through. I always thought I was more AvPD than anything. I have had a lot of relationship problems along the way. Like I don't get along well with drama cheaters or people who always have some ****ing problem/love to complain in any way. It annoys me. And I have two responses. I have usually removed myself from situations like this. I tend to only stick around in situations like this when I have to. I have like a thing where when I go I'm gone really. I really have runs that I rather avoid. Like I got in an argument with an ex over him seeing someone else once I sent him to the hospital. I can't say I feel like he didn't deserve it I mean all he had to do was break up. But I just don't like being deceived. I have had relationships with friends or boyfriends or superiors in the workplace where I have to remove myself. I am just better off alone or have a few people that are close. I don't really like being the center of attention I'm not necessarily scared but I definitely don't crave it.
One thing I really don't get also is what's the difference between normal people? People really lie to themselves this muc htat they don't know their world revolves around themselves? I mean every thing in this world lives for themselves and only their best fate that's their concern. Everything one does is self centered. I don't get what the difference is with normal egotism and being a person with a cluster b personality disorder? |

The over simplified version:
Histrionics want attention. Narcissists love themselves. Antisocials don't care. |

So I don't care usually about others. And I love myself. So what does that mean for me? How come this site doesn't hace a test on this?Jw?

Like I said over simplified, there is a lot more nuance to such things. Check the links posted by glok.
There are several tests here: ASPD: Psych Central - Psychopathy Quiz NPD: Narcissistic Personality Inventory - Psych Central But you need to keep in mind no online test can diagnose you. There are too many variables that self reporting can't pick up. If you are truly worried about this then you need to see a medical professional. |

well I took tests I get AsPD usually but NPD is almost equally high on some tests higher. So yeah all I know is I need help. I feel like I'm ****ed up sometimes to have all that I have.
Also with hpd I have some qualities but not enough I'm not want to like attention unless it's needed really. |

I read enough and researched enough that I believed it intellectually and then started the (intellectual) task of how to get effective therapy and get/grow "out" of it. Kind of like, I once had a dream in which I realized I was dreaming and felt panicky because I didn't know (or remember) how to wake up! Somebody happened to wake me up so I don't know if I ever would have done it for myself -- I guess I would have because who do you know that falls asleep physically and never wakes up? Nobody. If you think (intellectually) that you may have a disorder, and if you are correct, then you can't get what the difference is between normal and disordered egotism -- UNTIL you get the normal version. Make sense? Last edited by here today; Jul 08, 2014 at 03:22 PM. Reason: clarification |

The intent and thought process is what i find to vary a lot. To me though, all three are just a label that doesn't matter and it's your personal issues that you feel you need to work on that should be addressed.
