Very true, Perna. I thoroughly enjoyed talking about this with you!

I, too, did an essay on this Play. I called it "Hamlet and Ophelia - Love Gone Mad." How appropriate, eh? I had just been diagnosed with BPD about a year earlier. I saw alot of myself in Ophelia - unfortunately.

Although I totally freaked when I was writing it, it was fabulous to consider all the different aspects of each character (I always freak when I have to write - but I just LOVE it!!). I gotta brag a bit - I got a perfect mark on my paper! Apparently, I had made a few observations that even my teacher missed ( like I did with Claudius' remark to Gertrude), but I did catch a few things that he missed - even as a Shakespearian actor and English Prof. He uses my essay as an example in his classes now. When is enough, enough?

I am in awe of what this man was able to write, even though there was much controversy about his ability to write such

I don't think Shakespeare would be surprised, think that was somewhat his intent though more for his fellow English citizens rather than for those of us 400 years in the future.

OK, where was I...

Oh yes, the controversy regarding Shakespeare...

I am in awe of what this man was able to write, even though there was much controversy about his ability to write so many masterpieces.

Regardless of whether he wrote them all (or at all) is irrelevant to me. They are pure works of literary art! (for anyone reading this and don't know Shakespeare, it is just a matter of picking up the "lingo." It's like learning the technical language of say, an insurance agent. Once you know the terminology) we use, it is easy to understand. (Trust me, I am no poet, and if it was really that difficult to understand, I would have lost interest by the end of the first page!)

Well, since I didn't get to finish at the original time of writing (yesterday), I have totally lost what my point was. When is enough, enough?

Oops!
