I have every symptom of AvPD...like to a tee....but i am afraid to ask my T about it....does a diagnosis necessarily depend on the severity of the symptoms or having the symptoms....because i have the symptoms but not to the extent of preventing me from doing things....i mean certain things it does prevent me from, but overall im okay....so i dont think i wanna say anything cause it isnt impactin my life to the point where its debilitating.
please help, im terribly sorry if that was hard to follow

You should talk to your T. Everyone has all the feelings/symptoms of most mental illness at some time; that doesn't mean one has that illness. That's how T's work, they can be empathetic because they too have "felt this way". We all get sad and anxious and avoid people at times, etc.

No one can diagnose one's self because it's not what we "feel" like that makes the determination but more what we "look" like to the outside world and how debilitating it is. If it doesn't feel very debilitating to you, you probably don't have APD. But your T will probably be glad to discuss with you what she sees.

Sorry, can you tell me what "AvPD" is? You don't have to if it is difficult. You never have to answer questions here if you don't want to.

should i ask my T?

AvPD is Avoidant Personality Disorder.

I think you should talk to your T about it. They can help you out, that's what they do should i ask my T?
