Hi....

I have avoidant personality disorder..... and other mental health challenges!

I am looking for support ... maybe friendship ... just someone who knows what I am going through.

I do some voluntary work but aside from that I have no friends.... I'm scared of people .... but would like some contact with others.....

Do you know anything that might help? any self-help techniques?

I want out of this ... comfortable ....painful ....cell....

any hope?

Judith

Hi,I'm Catherine... aka 90... I don't have AvPD but i do have other personality disorders- borderline and narcissistic.

If you know anything about personality disorders like I do than you would know that AvPD and the ones I have are so different it's not even funny.

But I am sure I will look forward to hearing from you in up-coming posts.

Although me and you are completely opposites (at least with our PD's) doesn't mean we can't be friends.

I have avoidant traits (and maybe the disorder - don't trust the person who "diagnosed" me IRL but they may have been right)
You're welcome to PM me any time

Thanks for showing me I'm not alone!

Because I self harm/ed I was labeled BPD but that is so not me!

People are so scary ... I guess I'm scared of feelings as well.....

Not had a good day .... better go to bed.... shut out the world..... its safer that way....

talk to you tomorow

i'm undiagnosed, as i'm only 16...
but, i have a strong feeling i'm atleast in the developing stages of AvPD.
i'm awful with people, too,
and i have a decrepit(i hope i used the word right) self-esteem.
but i really wanna make friends...

i'd be more than happy to be your friend.

I'm in the process of getting myself some professional help, so I don't have an official diagnosis yet. But after reading the definition of AvPD here at psychcentral, the list of symptoms matched me almost perfectly...

So... Feel free to PM me, although I probably have more questions than answers and advices at the moment.
