Hi there, never met anyone else with BPD. Was diagnosed 15 years ago as well as Schizoeffective disorder. Have recently been diagnosed with Bipolar. I have spent lots of time in hospital. My unreliable mind over time has become my most reliable consort though no less frightening at times. It is almost beautiful in its complexity and raw power. Would love to hear from other BPD sufferers and see how u get through the day. My blog The Demon Run would love to have you visit. Sorry cant list url yet.

Hi Micah
I, too, have BPD. I was only diagnosed 7 months ago. I am still learning about me and my disorder.

Welcome to you too! Hope all is mostly peaceful and you have a decent grip(sometimes) on the wonderful unpredictability of bpd. The only thing I'm sure of is that I am totally unsure. Talk soon.

U sound a little like me! u sound like you have also lived with bpd for a while. Your attitude is great as you can't always effect the outcome, no matter how hard you try. Best to sit back and let it wash over you. Not always easy.

hi there bpd people,

i feel confused by all the different dx i have been given by various "professionals" - depression, ptsd-delayed onset, bpd and finally mpd/did from sra. i got all those over a 15 year period. bottom line is my childhood was so messed up that i got messed up. i'm sick of letters and would like to get well and not have any little acronyms to throw around. i'd like to be nrml. wouldn't that be nice for a change! sorry for ranting, it has been a really tough day.

Hi there! I don't much care for the alphabet soup I've been given by professionals. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they dont, sometimes they understand, sometimes they don't. Maybe the more messed up the childhood, the more hurt in childhood, the more letters? idk. PM me if you need or want to talk

You have met many, many folks with Borderline Personality Disorder. You just dont know it. It's one of the most common disorders. I have it too. I don't hate it. It has low points, scarey times. I think I empathze well with others because I can feel such a spectrum of emotions. We make great writers and poets because we aren't so divorced from this world that we regard it with cold disinterest. We a passionate people. We make fabulous actors. That is one reason you don't realize you know so many Borderlines. We are so good at acting normal. We are often very moral people although we may operate within our own code of right and wrong. I am not ashamed of this.

The key thing for me is a stable environment with stable people. I don't find routine terribly dull although I like to veer from it too. Almost no subject bores me--which is common of Borderlines. We are often quick studies.

Be proud. Don't be ashamed. But aim for stability. Fight for it. We can be so fragile sometimes. Best Wishes. Welcome to the club.
Thanks for this!

Road signs are not absolutes...they are there to direct you and offer some reasonable boundaires...

Labels too, are there as idicators not definitions..

Try not to be definned by a label and feel that it's presumed definition is all about you...

You are able to define yourself,

With care,

Lenny

Many with BPD, like me, have gone through therapists and diagnoses to get here.
Since anxiety, depression, rapid mood differences, avoidance, and more can be part of BPD, sometimes the diagnosis is of just that part of BPD.
I think I am very lucky to finally, after years of meds that didn't help and that I eventually stopped and therapies that didn't help, have found a therapist who understands what it's all about.
