Personality Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (NOS) could mean a combination of personality disorders or you fit the bill for having a personality disorder but not for any specific one. I think the first one though is more common.

Bipolar with schizophrenic features? That, I've never heard of. I have however heard of bipolar with psychotic or psychosis. Is that what you mean?

As for what to do with it, well, that's your diagnosis. If you want to get treatment, and they ask you, that's part of what you tell them. Or, you can see another person, such as a psychologist or psychiatrist to get a second opinion.

There is no such thing as "PRE-PERSONALITY DISORDER" at all, but there is Personality Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified.

The DSM-IV-TR is the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 4-Revised, and within this book is where the diagnostic criteria and codes are for a medically valid diagnosis (unless you are in the UK or various other countries where they use the ICD-10).

I really think the therapist or psychiatrist who diagnosed you as such owes you a much better explanation. Never leave a doctor or therapists office without knowing what you are diagnosed with and the basis for such a diagnosis. When you return, make sure you ask them the specifics.

Bipolar often has psychosis with it.

pre-personality disorder not otherwise specified is short-hand for, 'We don't actually know what is a matter with you (just yet) but think it is some sort of personality disorder!'
