I'm having nightmares again. I hate them. I'm always being attacked in them. My T said no wonder I was having trouble sleeping being that every time I go to sleep I have these. Especially since I tend to be asleep in my dream when I start getting attacked. I foresee a number of difficult T sessions in my near future. I just want to curl up in a ball and hide from the world.

I too have many problems with nightmares, I have found repeating a safe mantra before I go to sleep helps sometimes, or focusing on postive things that bring joy into your life as you fall asleep.

I hope the nightmares pass and I hope your T sessions go well

Many peaceful thoughts to you

I am sorry to hear that you are having nightmares, I have PTSD, Depression, Anxiety and Insomnia. At times I have horrific nightmares and they are brutal, I wake up feeling like I never slept at all. I know medication isn't the answer for everyone but I take a sleeping aid and the nightmares have subsided, perhaps your T will talk about that in the future sessions. My T told me that the body is not in deep sleep when you are dreaming, now I take my sleeping pill and I don't dream and wake up refreshed, they take some getting used to though. Sharing your fears, and things that are making you want to curl in a ball, might help a little bit. I pray that you have a night without nightmares tonight. I hope you sleep better

I used to have really bad insomnia so I would only get a couple of hours of sleep and I would spend time counting my breaths until I fell asleep. Now I am having an easier time falling asleep, but nightmares. Feels like I can't win.

Thanks. I am taking anti-anxiety meds to help me sleep, as otherwise the insomnia comes back.

I am glad that you are taking the meds, I take ambien cr, have you been taking the anti-anxiety meds for a while? For some time I still have the nightmares even though I was on the meds, then they just subsided. I know what Insomnia is like, it's an awful condition. If I miss a dose of my ambien, then I have insomnia all night. you are right we can't win.
