I think I have complex PTSD. I just needed to tell someone as I'm not ready to ask my T if he agrees. Don't want to tell people in my life. Just needed to have this thought outside my own head, sorry.

tinyrabbit,

I understand the need to get it out of your head.......it helps. Has someone diagnosed u with CPTSD? Can you tell me about the fears you have concerning telling your current T?

No diagnosis. I'm seeing a private T and don't want it in my medical records (have long history of issues with doctors, long story). I did actually mention it very quietly today and he didn't say if he agreed or not.

I think I'm just afraid he might say: don't be silly. As I am so used to having my experience minimised and denied. Which is how come I ended up with this in the first place.

I think he's actually pretty much told me I have it, as he keeps saying things like: "You have all this torture in your system." Who knows.

tinyrabbit,

I didn't want any diagnosis listed in my meical history. I paid in cash so insurance wasn't involved. I paid in cash when hospitalized for SI. My last Pdoc knew about my DD and Ptsd. I asked him what dx he wrote down, his response....I am treating you for depression. I was okay with that answer.

I notice you wrote you were having some dental procedure today, hope it goes well.

Thank you - it went well but triggered a flashback. Going to write another thread about it.
